Hmm, at least they thought about who gets what with the different classes.

Hopefully the Recon will only have acces to sniper rifles so his C4 won't make him the assault class of choice (like in BF2 where spec ops are basically the do it all). Interesting to see how this supression mechanic will work, in BF2 I always felt that the support class was inaccurate and easily picked off. The assault class being able to heal itself and others might be a bit troublesome, but at least they will have a hard time against vehicles. Being able to heal yourself is a pretty big deal, but thankfully the assault class is most likely the class that has to put itself in the most danger. The engineer is pretty much a copy of bf2 in its abilities.

Interesting to see how the vehicle damage model will work out, at least it will remove the all or nothing approach for infantry towards vehicles, because in bf2 you either killed it or got killed by it. Now you can actually hamper its effectiveness even if you did get killed.

Seems that they basically switched the supporting items of the Bad Company 2 Medic and Assault around. In BC2 Medic is one of the more powerful classes with the machine guns and the healing in one sweet package, basically eliminating the need for any other assault class. They balanced that out nicely by switching the health and ammo packs and giving the support (previously medic) another role. BF3 looks like it's going to be more like Bad Company 2 with bigger maps (as far as MP goes).

I get the feeling I am going to get from this game what I miss in L4D(2). That's running around in L4D kind of maps, but having enough to shoot at and go mental, with 64 players.

Plus much much more. A bit of BF2 style gaming, new stuff.

Still looks very promising if you ask me. My only worry, no commander. But the good news, squadleaders are back!
