Got it! The screen pretty much tells the title...

Won't post the game yet because:

a) I posted too many already
b) I cheated - I actually didn't know the game but found the title on the site the screenshot has been taken from. This requires some URL-Fu (as in Kung-Fu) but others will surely be able to find it as well or will simply recognize the game.

Shame on you, Kaz - this will teach you to upload screens to image hosting services. ;-)

Balloon Fight

Alright, I had to get some help for that one. Having confirmed the game with a quick google, I'll post up a new screenshot soonish.

EDIT:

Somewhat cropped, sorry.

The texture used for the ground is probably a dead giveaway.

God damn you guys.

You just failed the "guess the game fair and square" test. I believe there is no such game.

Considering the thread died, I'd say this is close enough. Good job. :16

Game is Commander Keen Dreams.

Jesus Christ! Take a history lesson, Baal. ;-)

Hearts of Iron II takes place before and during WW II - does the map of Europe in this screenshot (and by that I mean the country boundaries) look anything like the geopolitical situation from that period? =) (Even if it has been modified by in-game conquests.)

Either this or the fact that it says "1864" on top of the screen. ;-)

Oh, the irony. :-D

Anyways - this looks indeed very much like Europa Universalis like sebas said and this lead me to the assumption that it must be a game built on the Europa Universalis engine.

I arrived at "Victoria: An Empire Under the Sun", and I'm sure this is the correct title, judging by other screens. =)

This one should be well-know or incredibly easy to find:

Yeah, this is correct. I assume no one here has played it though? That was a screen I took when my bro and I LAN'ed, I played as Portugal and he as Spain, while invading Sweden. Such a fun and addicting game. :)

You shouldn't post any more such screens lest Baal thinks this is how it actually happened. ;-)

P.S. I'm not sure if I haven't posted the game above earlier in the thread. Hmm...

Soooo - the thread died because of Baal's sucky (I'm guessing German ;-) game. Partially because he used a bad, bad hosting service and the image is nowhere to be found... ;-)
Any hints? Solutions? Let's resurrect the guessing game! :-D

Ow I love these kind of games :D I have no clue what the previous one was, but to keep it going here's a new one:

Don't know if it's been shown before but I didn't feel like ploughing through 32 pages just to make sure ;) Prolly a hard one (I might overestimate it :P), but meh it was an awesome game!

Yes, picture quality is really poor but meh :(

Relentless is just two years older than you and Space Quest was released before he was born. It's not a matter of age - it's a matter of being cool and playing old classics. ^^

Unity is right, by the way, as you can see in the paragraph above. =)
