Saint was telling me a couple of months back that all the bandwidth being used by the servers would probably lead to this eventually, but to be honest, I didn't actually think it would happen. :shock:

How the fuck can Minecraft use up so much anyway? Doom on my 486 was more complicated graphically than this shit.....

Ugh, but to be fair it was causing a lot lag on the TF2 and L4D2 servers, the amounts of data are just ridiculous!
I guess I will take the chance and take a few screenshots of the best builds as a souvenir.

Notch codes horribly. As such, we wind up with a ton of laggy, slow, bandwith hogging now-terminated stuff.

Back in Alpha, Notch's estimates for SMP RAM requirements were 500 MB per PLAYER. (Server side, of course, very few players would have enough RAM to connect if they needed it too)

I just wish I would have known before yesterday... As sad as this is to say it... it has been a good run, but we just don't have the resources to keep the server running... The server will probebly shut down around Monday. :(

I swear to God this better be an April Fool's joke....if not, well...this sucks...all the work and help from everybody within the SPA community was appreciated. I know the fellow OP's and Minecraft Community here at SPA thank everyone for the good run!

P.S. If this is a joke on April Fool's day....Your gonna see a pissed Crabby! (but then I'll calm down and laugh about it :ugly: )
