Post subject:  Family Loss

I've had some rough days in my life, but this weekend totally blew me out of it.

My gran unfortunately was killed in a car crash, a head on colision with my grandpa driving trying to get up to the hospital to see my dying mum.

It's struck me hard, but the thing is, it could of been worse - it was originally meant to be me in that front seat where my gran was...

By some strange twist of events, I ended up being taken up by my boss. It was only when I'd got up to see my mum that I knew something was wrong as theyd asked for my brothers number.

Obviously I though it was to do with mum, of which I'm prepared for the worst with my mum as she's been suffering for years. But instead the news from A&E came...

Nothing could ever prepare me for this... Grandpas still alive, but is seriously hurt and his heart isn't handling the news well. The doctors said my gran would have been killed instantly, so she wouldn't have felt any pain, the only good thing to come out of it.

My brother and I are going up later to break the news to my mum, though we're scared of how she'll take it what with her health and all...

There's an investigation still going on, but it looks like its been the other driver at fault from the destruction of our car.. I'll let you know what the outcome is though...

Thanks again for being a listener

Thanks guys... *hugs all*

Mums not doing too well though. My brother and I broke the news to her, and unfortunately her condition deteriorated since then...

Dr's are trying to make her as comfy as possible, but it's looking bleak. My bro and I both decided that if the worst comes, shes not to be resusatated... It's a hard choice I know, but it's for the best.

Grandpa's still pretty upset, but his physio started today, so hopefully he'll do well, even if he does sound pretty wheezy (well you would too if you broke almost every rib in your body with the entire left side penetrating your lungs!!!)

Still.... we found moments to laugh today, though I'm exhausted traveling between the 2 hospitals... it's really not handy, especially when youd on't drive >.<

I don't know you really, but I am sorry to hear that.

I know it must feel even worse, the fact they were going to see your mum, who is in Hospital.

But, if you want to ever talk about things (not meaning me, as I don't know you) then, i'm sure you've got close friends on here who you can talk to.

Again, sorry to hear.

Karl.
