I dun did it. I bought Minecraft. ![]() What I actually came here for was to ask for suggestions. Any cool texture packs I should check out? Anything basic I should know to get started on our SMP server? I've watched tonnes of Minecraft survival videos over the past year or so (Seananners, Yogscast, davidr64yt, etc.) so I know what to do in singleplayer survival. Is it a lot different from multiplayer? Lots of questions, but I hope y'all can help me with some of them ![]() |

Nope. I popped onto the free creative version a few times and I've been interested in the game for some time but I never actually bought it. |

If you have a decent enought computer try the Balea texture pack, it's my favorite. http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/191 ... wild-gras/ I would say single player tends to be a lot more serious then Multiplayer as you've only got yourself as company. Best thing to do in multiplayer is to join someones town and do the rest from there. |

Grats Orange! You finally joined us. Yes, you are one of us now... one..of...us-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s ![]() ![]() About texture packs: TBH, I have tried everything out there from goofy, acartoon like packs to the ultra hi-res packs, but I always end up back witht eh default. THere si just something about the way the lighting works in teh default pack that I find more appealing that shiny textures. If you wanna give it a try though, the obvious ones are: Painterly Pack Doku's RPG Pack LB PhotoRealism Pack John Smith's Pack And many more Here have fun and we'll see you on the new servers soon ![]() |

Omgwtfcreepers! I laughed with all of those people I watched when they whimpered at the sight of one of those exploding penises. They never seemed too much of a threat and could be dealt with relatively easily. Now they blew up my house I'm whimpering myself. Now I understand the dread everyone experiences when one of those is around. Such is life in Minecraft. |

Hmm, everytime I try to apply a new texpack, instead of Minecraft giving me the option to choose between textures, my default textures just get replaced with the custom ones. Any fixes? |

Are you trying to apply them directly to the minecraft.jar or are you putting the entire zip file into the "textturepacks" folder found in the main minecraft folder?
Any fixes? |

For this specific one (this one) I unpacked the files to the right folder (the one minecraft itself directs you to) and then used the mcpatcher (this one) because this texture pack seems to require it. |
