I think I would use them if I was insane, surely if the last unlocks were actually quite good, they're not gonna give solly and medic, that shit and the beta syringe gun. Interested to see what the engy and pyro will be getting.

I hope they don't put in the mini-crit rocket launcher, we will end up with a influx of soilders letting their medics die so they can go crazy on other team. I quite like the one the increase ubercharge rate, that would work well i think. I just wonder what they will do with the soilder Meele weapon.

They're too situational I think, the heavy can count on having having a medic around, so they can equip the running gloves (which you can even grab health packs for) but a rocket launcher that deducts your health on hit is useless without a medic, and it doesn't benefit anyone until the medic's dead. They must have something else planned, or a variant.

I guess we'll be seeing the detonator for the pyro which will be pretty cool, I think it'd be better if they removed the crit on burning players, so you get to do the jumps, and detonate the flare, but currently you get 20% expslosion vunerability, and it crits like the flare.

May aswell just read the beta page http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Beta besides the syringe gun, the medic's stuff looks good.

The worst part about those stats for the soldier (if true) is that they encourage medics to only heal one person. We have enough of that kind of medics already.

Also: The Detonater seems like an awesomely fun weapon to use!

Agreed with Crass.
The weapons aren't much good for public games...
If it was, for example

White Box
On hit: Medic Healing you gets healed by 15HP
If there is no medic healing you, the nearest teammate is healed

-25% clip size

Then it would be more interesting and encourage team play (and not "teamplay", as in letting the medic die to gain mini crits)

I think it should also get the mincrits when the medic dies, the weapon needs some appeal.

Both weapons do have pretty nasty downsides aswell that you don't mention. With that same logic you can accuse any weapon in the game if being imbalanced. :wink: The Soda Popper is pretty similar to the FAN, which I never use anyways, and The Atomizer nerfs the damage output severly.

Speaking of The Atomizer, I don't get whom the 10 damage of the third jump is dealt to. It would be logical if it hurt the scout himself, but then why is that text in blue? And if it is dealt to enemies, how does that work, is it if he lands on them or is it enough to just be near them?

when you have a gun that can 2-shot half of the classes in the game and reloads quicker than the scattergun then who cares about the other downsides it has (i.e, practically nothing). and if you have a beast weapon like that then there's no need to use your bat at all, just triple jump and be untouchable while your super-fast reload kicks in. it's just such a ludicrous stepup for a class that already has more than enough killing power

A lot of people i think are viewing The Soda Popper wrong, and comparing it to the FaN, when the weapon itself only has one stat that is the same, the clip size. Instead compare the SP to the Scattergun, which it is more akin to, it has the same amount of pellets as well as the same damage, this weapon was made for a scout to hit and run, not to fight other classes head on, which is what is promoted in most of scouts arsenal, be a vulture. The hype bar will build as the scout is looking for someone to take out, who will proberly already be on low health, the crit boost just giving him that needed edge to finish the job. The weapon in my opinue is good in comparison to the other weapons, it promotes the same style of play as the FaN except lacks the silly knockback damage which ruins the hit and run tatics of the scout, while implementing the idea that the scout should take his time picking an enermy and then quickly go in for the kill. All this of course is spectulation and we can not tell until the weapon is out, but we should stop comparing the Soda Popper to the FaN just because it only carries two shells per clip. :D

Sonny, to be fair, you mainly play in scrims/mixes etc, which wont allow these items :P Only us hardcore pubbies will have to learn to adapt... to be fair, none of these new items prevent being shot in the face still.. only that fucking crocodile :<

Don't know if i'll be using the new flare gun or not, I love my critting flaregun too much, where as this only mini crits, plus the self damage plus fall damage is really high compaired to other jumps :?

I do love how the soldier got things the pyro community have been asking for for quite a while now, the knockback resistance which the home wrecker desprately needs, and the mini-crit on airborn targets. I can understand not getting the mini-crits cause we can get someone in the air far easier than the solly can, but the homewrecker still needs some love :(

But oh my god, i so want that riding crop and goomba stomp boots so very, very much :twisted:

Edit: oh, and how fun, another fast rocket to reflect, at least this one has full blast radius so should at least likely do a little damage

On topic, the fun times i'm going to have with that riding crop, standing next to snipers slaping them as they try and aim and are suddenly 6 times faster :D. Good times.
