I found a good mod, and i told a couple of people about it. So i am putting in on here for everyone to have a shoot at it. The mod is called Improved Chat. It allows scrolling of chat, copy and pasting, scrolling through messages you recently said. You can bind keys and change the colors of words. Unofficial 1.0.0 download(tested & working!) Installation(normal client): CLOSE MINECRAFT Download the .zip from the link provided Open .zip with winRAR or 7z Hit windows+r, type in %Appdata%\.minecraft\bin Select minecraft.jar --> right click .jar --> open with ---> winrar or 7zip Drag all the files from the .zip into the .jar Open minecraft and play Installation(mycraft client): CLOSE MINECRAFT Download the .zip from the link provided Unzip your .zip and open up the file Open your mods folder located inside your MyCraft folder Create a new folder called ImprovedChat Drag all the class folders from your unzipped folder into the ImprovedChat folder Exit out of all windows Open Minecraft and play How to use: Scroll chat with middle wheel on mouse... Scroll previous messages sent with up and down arrow keys... bind keys: Open chat type in: ~bind key message/command ex. "~bind h /home" this would send me to my home when i hit the h key Change input: Open chat type in: ~input originaltext newtext ex. "~input gb &c3gb" This would change all chat i see with the letters gb into a gb with color, &c3 is a color code NOTE: make sure there is a double space inbetween originaltext and new text There is also an output but i dont see a use in it lol |

you can type ~stop in the chat window to stop all chat from reaching it, and ~start to start it again.Alternatively you could do ~tab [tabname] to open a new tab, chat won't go to it until you type ~start. You can close a tab by typing ~close. I don't know how to switch between tabs though.. All those commands start with a tilde (~) or else you'll just send it as message. |

It is an awesome mod, I've been using it since July 1. There is intention to include chat logging in the near future, which will be very useful for ops. The chat scroll is intensely bright and sometimes interferes in ones ability to see where one is navigating. I am hoping for the day the chat gets completely off the game onto a sidebar in a format similar to IRC. I can dream, right? |

I think the logging is server side. But for ops+ who dont have console access, are left without logs
