this is gonna be a really sad question. but i'm wondering how to format my pc.. and if i have to have the internet explorer CD.. because i dont... if you could tell me how and what i need that would be great!! i have windows 7 home premium laptop.. also i have a seagate 500gb external hard drive...

the only reason i want to format is because i had gotten a really bad virus and i took it to some local store to have it fixed, and they switched out my 540 gb hardrive with a 29gb one!!!! and they wont give it back  and i DO have teamviewer btw :) thanks guys!! :D

I believe that's theft and you should call the authorities.

Wait, do you want to reinstall your operating system, or just get rid of all your files??

Yeah, do you want your operating system as in,

You keep all your settings and information, such as users, etc etc. OR, do you want to remove everything, and redo all your users and settings.

Both can be done easily, but without the disc, it will be a tad bit harder depending on how your recovery manager is :P.

Fitty, depending on your brand of laptop it may have come with a factory reboot option hidden on a second hard drive partition. I know almost 90% of Toshiba and Acers come with this. What is your laptop manufacturer?

*facepalm*
Just go into your downloads folder and documents and clean out some shit then download CCleaner and run it. Then it should clean out most of your hidden junk files.
