Post subject:  TF2 lagging or freezing

Hey to the all knowing and wise community of spa!

I finally have come to a point that i desperately try to scream for help.
I'm running out of ideas why my TF2 started to lag after i upgraded my pc.
All the lag things i found on google is usually related to old pcs and get help when disabling the DX9 and changing it to DX8 or something like that.
And found some freeze issues but not an answer to them.

My game totally freezes to 0,5 - 5 seconds on some random time interval. (and i think its only TF2).
I mean whole game freezes, not just the ping.

And other thing also, my server loading time is increased a lot.
Before i was like 1st or 2nd on server almost everytime, now the game might even have started or just starting when i get in to the game.

What i have tried so far.
Re-istalled the game 4 times.
Tried to adjust almost anything on the graphics detail and i think it effects little to lagging.
tried few different GPU drivers
Tried to cool pc more but i dont get any high temp readings, i think this helped a little, but might be just my imagination.
I play with G13 and use LG 21,5" monitor with 1080p settings.

and after i changed the parts, at frist i didnt reinstall windows and i think TF2 worked fine.
After few days, got new DVD drive from the post so i could reinstall the windows (new MB didnt have any IDE places...)
and after that TF2 started to lag.

It would be more than a joy to be able to play TF2 again.
Any help is more than welcome!

My pc specs...

I previously had:
Now i have:

Quick question.

Do you have a seperate sound card or using onboard? if seperate - try unplugging it and use the onboard...Fixed my stutter some time ago.

Sounds like badly configured memory modules or other BIOS settings. Or perhaps a dody harddrive or so.

Hmm, i reinstalled all audio drivers, and played few hours, i think it worked little better but the lagg or freeze was still there.

Hmm, ill try to adjust ram timigs and clocking next.
Good notice too.

I think i have only played BF3 and TF2 after upgrade (and used lightroom and photoshop) and other things seems to work ok.

Not sure if this still applies but when I had trouble with TF2 crashing all the time it was down to the theme Aero on Windows 7. I can't find the thread now on how I fixed it. I think you right click the TF2 app and click something where it says to open it in classic.

Sure ill try if something new comes up.
Ill googled this around and found other new trick too.

This trick helped slightly to lags, maybe lags are shorter now. Thx :5:

Found this also
http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/s ... ?t=1093560
Doing this helped to loading times, but didnt notice any other help.

some lagging is still there but doing these two and reducing little from graphics its almost playable, lags come rarely now.

EDIT:
No, i was wrong. again loading times huge and more lagggg.....
This is hopeless.

Wuhuu! :4

After long fight and all kind of different try's i think problem is fixed!

With steam support we tried all kind of things and yesterday, thay told me to run windows on selective start up with only ms programs starting --> no help and there was this last thing that i could try to uninstall hamachi, not just shut it down.

I uninstalled it --> no help, then re-boot pc, and on same reboot win7 installed service pack 1.

After that it worked!

So either hamachi caused it or SP1 fixed it!
