Yes! Game genres can only impove in space  Quote: Blame my (Tynan's) lack of art skill - especially with characters. I made the character art you see in the trailer as a stopgap, and borrowed the Prison Architect style because I'm not a good enough artist to develop a new one. They were never intended to be final. With this Kickstarter, we'll be able to get a real artist who can sit down and develop an original style for RimWorld.
I had my reservations before, but if they can be creative with the characters visually and in a game sense then I'm definitely sold, because it looks too much like a flash game at the moment. When things are set in space, it's really disappointing to see aliens and humans shooting generic laser guns with basic little robots floating around. I'm hoping he gets creative with the races and technology instead of coping out using the sci-fi equivalent of elfs and dwarves.

I can't help but feel the name was a huge oversight or at least an invitation for me to indulge the worst excesses of the filth of my mind.... Still the game looks interesting, I imagine I'll be playing soon. Fucking RimWorld? REALLY? |

Woah, this looks incredibly promising! I've been looking for a game like Dorf Fort and there's a bunch of 'em on Steam, but this one seems like it mimics just the right mechanics that I enjoy in DF. I'll probably back this and jump right it. So if a homeworlder gets an offer for employment on a planet in the outer rim, will he be getting a rim job? |
