Some configs, such as the one for Applied Energistics, has a setting for the amount of power used by its machines. By raising this number we can make it a lot harder.

I assume other mods will have similar settings
Ah i see, thanks for explaining.

I did play with DW20 pack, it is not bad. I like Monster more though - more technical mods - like Big Reactors, but it would need nerfing the advanced genes mod :P (or disabling completely, you can get creative flight within 10 minutes and almost zero power). No idea whether it eats more CPU and RAM while in-use compared to DW20.

Also disabling chickenchunks and allowing only (limited amount?) of personal anchors could be a nice idea to prevent huge bases being chunkloaded.

Also steel + diamond(s) for TE could be enabled :>

Also in the IC2 config you can make nuclear reactors produce steam instead of EU so you have to run it through a steam turbine. Also with compact solars I know we can make them take longer to produce energy. We could also mess with the thaumcraft research rates, so it is harder to get things in thaumcraft.

Yeah DW20 looks fine to me. Plenty of things to play with, and it seems to run alright on my computer.

Hey one thing, chunkloaders are enourmous resource hogs, I ran a tekkit server back in the day and they caused many many problems, so watch out for them.

That was when it was up to the modders had to write the chunkloader code. Now that forge added forge chunkloading it is less resource intensive.

About chunkloaders - as I already offered - "Also disabling chickenchunks and allowing only (limited amount?) of personal anchors could be a nice idea to prevent huge bases being chunkloaded."

Does not chunkload, only prevents chunk unloading, works only if the player is on the server and loads 3x3 chunks area.

See, I enjoy chunkloaders for farms and other things that need to be loaded for them to run. Possibly have placing cl blacklisted, and use the lesser form? (Er, forget the name. But the one that loads 1 chunk.

Post subject:  Re: ftb

But what is wrong on the personal anchor? You load 3x3 chunks just fine - as long as you are online. When you leave it will unload - so it won't be *that* easy to set up, leave for work and come back tomorrow and have your 64k ME drive full of it...

I think I am going to just have a turtle moving around my base with a chunkloader on it. So I will have most of my base loaded when it is needed.

Also we could use just the little spot loaders from chicken chunks.

Having trouble with the start up launcher, after I click launch it takes a while to load and then after 10 minutes the game closes. That's all it does. Any suggestions?

How does it crash? Does windows say that it has stopped working or something?

Check <your FTB launcher's directory>\Direwolf20_1_6_4\crashlogs\ and paste to pastebin and link us the content of the last file from that folder.
