It's Unreal Tournament. For free. http://www.unrealtournament.com So yeah, for free. It's still pre-alpha so 99% of the maps aren't even textured yet. The one that is, though, is very impressive. Anyone who hasn't heard anything of this project, it's Epic Games bringing a new UT to people for free, which is great in itself, but they're also including all the UT fans out there to be involved. Weapons, maps, items - whatever. Played a bit of it so far and as you'd expect it is indeed a fragfest. Completely nuts at times. It runs incredibly smooth as well. So yeah, go get it! |

The map that they've fully textured is indeed amazing: I'm playing a lot of TF2 at the moment but I've been looking forward to the next UT for ages so I'll give it a go at some point |

I think we can host this.... |

Scatterbrain, the fully textured map is incredible. It's just really "UT". Wicked stuff. The other maps are awesome designs too, and as far as I am aware the classic maps, such as Facing Worlds, will also be revamped and given a 2015 UT face lift! SaintK, if you do host, let me know. I think an Instagib server would rock. |

Given it's high spec look, it runs incredibly well, too. It's really well optimized. It's nice to play a game (one that is still pre-alpha, especialy!) that runs so well and doesn't choke your system to hell and back.

That's good news. It's also a very clear and readable looking map which is quite important in a game like that. Having such detail and design without making the map look busy and distracting is deffinetly quality work.

I'm looking forward to when they finish off the other maps fully with all textures and ambient details.

Not sure on the system requirements but as far as I know Unreal Engine doesn't take up a lot of resources.

From the FAQ:as i "game" with a entry level laptop Quote: What are Unreal Engine 4's system requirements?
I remember you making a thread to the effect that your laptop couldn't run TF2. It might actually explode if you try to run UT4 For developing with UE4, we recommend a desktop PC with Windows 7 64-bit or a Mac with Mac OS X 10.9.2 or later, 8 GB RAM and a quad-core Intel or AMD processor, and a DX11 compatible video card. UE4 will run on desktops and laptops below these recommendations, but performance may be limited. I won't be able to play this for a while so please report back if it's as good as looks! |

Thats for developing Unreal Engine 4 games though, where the editor will eat up a lot of system resources. Downloading UT now. |
