If your mind isn't blown yet, just wait until you read the actual news from today's EA press conference with Valve. Some of the big news from this press conference is that a new trailer for Episode 2 was displayed to the audience, Team Fortress 2 is very much alive and kicking and will be one of two additional games shipped with Episode 2, and a PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of Half-Life 2 is in the works and will ship at the same time.
Newell's gone on to discuss the episodic-gaming business model. Short version: Valve likes it. It will even let them explore new types of gameplay in a new upcoming game called Portal (which seems to be a working title). It looks like they took the portal concept from Prey and slapped it on a gun--you can shoot them into walls and floors to solve all kinds of crazy puzzles, teleporting objects around and stuff. Looks like a total mindbender.

TEAM FORTRESS 2. WHERE DID THIS COME FROM? Hey, they're still making it! It's got a totally exaggerated, crazy art style now. Looks a little like Spy vs. Spy or No One Lives Forever, kind of a '60s spy feel. It's going to be the included multiplayer mode in Episode 2! Class-based, etc. You know the drill. Great news for shooter fans. We all thought this game was dead years ago.

And hey, Half-Life 2: Ep 2 wlil ship for Xbox 360 and PS3 simultaneously with the PC. The console games will basically include all of the HL2 back content, so you'll get everything on there that you can get on the PC. Who expected all this Valve news?
This means that Half-Life 2, Episode 1, and Episode 2 will come in one package deal for the 360 and PS3 release. Now, all that's left is to see new screenshots and videos of these games, especially TF2! To say the least, I am very, very excited to see this.

Additional Link: Here's a more in-depth look at the Valve coverage, including a lot of additional details on Portal and TF2's unique art design.

So they are trying to get sum new players to TF. I used to like that q1tf (btw it’s still working). Tested it last year and there was this little problem... it damn impossible to play it, coz there is only like hardcore players playing it, so I was just a free frag for all those ppl.

It’s HL2:TF? If so then I might have to reconsider buying HL2. Even if I buy it I won’t install source.

If TF is popular, the maybe you could think about establishing server for it?

You you remember the movies, about 5 years ago from Teamfortres2? The famouse one with the soldier dropping a grenade in the tank? And the TF2 movie which has stand model for the map de_dust?

I believe this is finally comming! Would be really awsome :)

Can’t say that Id remember that movie (prolly never saw that one).
When is it coming if it’s coming at all?

So saint question of the day: q1TF or TFC?

I really haven’t played TFC so I can’t say. But that q1TF was first online game for me.

ET from RTC is not good enough to host. The game lacks all kinds of stuff. I rather wait for the new ET.

Yeah, I have to agree with Sainty here, entirely...

However, if TF2 is anywhere near as good as the very orignal TF for Quake/QW, then you can count me in ;) 2Forts ftw!!!

Mind you, this was based on the old quake engine. So try imagen it with the Source engine.

TF2 has undergone some pretty mad style changes recently...

If you've not seen how it looks, there's a trailer (kind of) in the Steam --> Media section...
Worth a look at! But definately Strange...

Kind of like a cross between Battlefield2, Quake, Spy vs. Spy and The Incredibles (yeah, the Pixar CGI cartoon).

Could be a lot of fun, hard to say ;)
