Often when i try and connect to any hl2 server it wont let me ... it hangs at about 80% when i click cancel i get this message in console

I have tried setting sv_pure to 1 & 2 to no avail .. i then have to wait about 5 mins till i fully disconnect and try again

And if i do manage to get in first time i get disconnected with the following console message...

Redownloading all lightmaps
drunkenbird killed The Weirdo^.-[dK] with minigun.

Any ideas?

verify you game cache
(right click on tf2 in games list, properties, local files, verify integrity)

if this doesn't help, delete the cache and redownload again.

i dont have an option to verfiy... ive deleted local game content and ill download again , ill get back to you cheers

did you delete the extraced files of the game too?
i think if you delete the game cache through the menu, it doesn't delete Steam\steamapps\account\team fortress 2 which is where the files get extracted to.

Right ill try that tonight... dont want to miss out , just delete the whole folder right?

do not delete the folder straight from the program files i would think
i tried that before and if u try reinstall it wont work.

then you fucked up! just delete the cache, when you try to start the game the next time it will all get re-extracted.

Deleted the whole tf2 folder , still the same problem... any ideas?

if you have not installed any custom models then i'm out of ideas, sorry.
