Goldrush will mark the first map in a new game mode called "Payload," which will task the Blue team with herding a mine cart full of explosives toward the Red base. The more players near the cart, the faster it will move, the Red team winning if it prevents Blue from reaching its goal. The map will also be the first to utilize the cinematic physics technology from Half-Life 2: Episode Two. |

Yay ![]() Will the SpA servers play ONLY the new maps the first week or two of release, or will the new maps just be implemented into the current map rotation ? |

The cart starts in the Blu base, and the idea of the mode is for Blu to keep Red away away from the cart, until it reaches the detonation point.

nope, you won't be able to, because it's the "cinematic physics engine" they're using, and this part of the physics engine does not support any kind of player interaction whatsoever.![]() you might have seen it in ep2 when the bridge collapsed or a strider demolished a building. it looks really awesome, but if you go over to the rubbels afterwards, you'll notice that you can clip through it. |
