Valve released the final details on its upcoming Team Fortress 2 content update during a party tonight in downtown San Francisco. In addition to the known crit-increasing gun "The Critzcrieg," the remaining two unlockable medic weapons were also available for hands-on time.

Dubbed "The Blutsaugher" and "The Ubersaw," they will serve as replacements for the medic's standard syringe and bonesaw, respectively. The weapons will be earned through a new achievement system, and equipped through a loadout menu.

Below you can check out Valve's official descriptions for the weapons. Stay tuned for impressions of the new content--including the fantastic Goldrush map--as well as an interview with Valve's Robin Walker.

The Blutsaugher
For players that earn one third of the 36 new medic achievements, they will be given a new syringe gun. Called "The Blutsaugher," this new weapon no longer has the ability to score critical hits against an opponent. Instead it will draw health from enemies each time a syringe hits. Especially useful as a weapon to retreat away from the fight while staying alive.

The Critzcrieg
Once a medic has earned two thirds of the achievements, they will be granted "The Critzcrieg." This new medigun uses its ubercharge not for invulnerability, but to give its recipient 100% chance to fire critical ordinance. Medics and the player they are charging need to be careful though, because as much fun as it is to fire critical rockets as fast as you can, the other team will see what you're up to and try to put a quick stop to your plan.

The Ubersaw
For the determined medic that has earned all 36 of the new achievements, they will find themselves the proud owner of "The Ubersaw," which will take damage done in melee attacks and convert it directly to ubercharge. Four hits with this new weapon will fully charge whatever medigun the medic has equpped.

i thought they would have the überhealer... but I guess this is better, have alternative weapon for primary, secondary and melee... The übersaw will be crazy, but I but not many people will have it :)

Honestly, it won't do much good for a heavy+medic combo. Because when a good combo uses the normal übercharge, then the heavy gets a high crit rate (+80%) anyways, because of the damage he does.

The best way to use a 100% crit charge would be 2 soldiers/demomans + 1 medic.

Time to add a new option of using SpA-points - 'prevent Magisk from using his bonesaw' ;)
Medics will get highest points even more easily :( That's the only disadvantage. And as far as I understood, that Blutsaugher thingie will act like the flamethrower, which is sick :lol: Hope the new improvements in the other classess will balance the game...

Not at all... The Blautsauger will work more like the current syringe gun, but where all hits will be uncrittable. All hits will heal the medic for a certain amount of HP's.

4 hits with the ubersaw and you have uber? That's cheating :lol: I like it :mrgreen:
And the new syringe gun looks very fun to use :twisted:

Now with all the unlockables we'll be combat medic. Attack with The Critzcrieg and Ubersaw, charge uber with 4 hits and then activate it 8)

I think it's statted pretty clear that it leeches life from the enemy.

And a new medic tactic:

1) Two medics run together
2) First medic ubercharges the second medic (Normal ubercharge)
3) The second medic starts chewing away on enemies with the ubersaw
4) Uber runs out
5) Second medic will now have ubercharge ready, he uses it on the first medic
6) First medic grinds away with the ubersaw
7) Uber runs out
8) First medic will now have ubercharge ready, he uses it on the second medic
9) go to 3

Not until they both unlock the µbersaw :) And I hope it'll be quite a challange :)
As for the syringe thingie - oh well, both English and German aren't my mother tongue so I guess it's normal to sometimes misunderstand sth :)

i will implement a plugin that will only allow magisk, noxious or me to go medic if anyone of us is in the team. we deserve the achievements the most imho :P

Well the obvious thing I guess, It will be critical too...

I just hope medics won´t be too overpowered until other classes get their achievements/unlockables...

You cant really stat pad 10 mil healed. I think they threw that in to make sure people didnt jus "cheat" to get the achievements.
