Just started playing Eve online (Trinity)
Don't usually play games like this but used to love Elite on the BBC :o so I thought I'd give it a go.
Loving it at the mo, taking a lot of my time though
Anyone else had a go,/having a go.
Let me know if you are and We'll kill some pirate scum 8)

I've played it for a couple of months, but the lack of progress made me quit... Advancement just takes too long and too much work. Eve is like a job.

At least it has real pvp in it.

WoW: lulz i respawned go kill that thing! (your stupid WoW player with his gear intact)
Eve: Oh fuck my ship got destroyed! (His ship is permenantly destroyed)

buys a new ship and fits it out again

not that hard to make isk in eve tbh

When I played it I started with 1 mill and had reached 20 mill within the first week by just buying stuff cheap and selling them at a 100-1500% mark up

But then again, your typical Battleship with fit cost around 300 Mil ISK. True that with some decent hacking skills, you can earn that in two hours or so, but the average player doesn't have good hacking skills, and might have to grind around 5 hours to get that kind of ISK (0.0 only). To add onto that, you are putting your money making ships on the line, everytime you rat/mine in 0.0.

And battleships is a rather cheap ship.... A carrier with decent fittings and drones can easily cost 2Bil, not to mention the 30Bil for a mothership or 150Bil for a titan!

Playing the market > anything else. you just have to find a good system to start trading in. Sure you won't be doing much else then picking up goods across the region (I usually set max 5 jumps out) and all hoarding them towards your trading station, but the more money you make, the more money you can invest. If I hadn't quit trading (due to me having other obligations), I'd probably sit on a billion within a month or 2.

I beg to differ... With the changes to exploration, nothing can beat a good hacker, when it comes to making ISK!
