The problem is - there are like a gazillion passwords - EA account, main page login, main page protection password... They really went out of their way to make sure nobody gets into the public beta "illegally"... Given my Guild Wars alpha experience this really reminds me more of a closed alpha, than a beta... They also made you (me) accept an NDA (OK, not really SIGN it and send it back to them like ArenaNet did with Guild Wars) which, for example, forbids uploading any screenshots ANYWHERE...The release was delayed until the end of 2008 so yeah, probably early 2009... -.- This is pretty funny (in an unfunny kind of way) since the game is pretty much feature complete and plays like anything else out there except for some minor bugs (as if BF2 didn't have bugs :-D)... Currently there's also only one map... The delay is because they want to pull off a "Steam", I think, which will make the TF2 rip-off complete (in reality it's not THAT much of a plagiarism but you can clearly see the influences here and there). As to being worth anything in terms of SpA activity... I really don't know... E.g. I don't think there will be any private servers. Currently you're only able to join a game through automatic match-making and in future you'll probably be able to join a game in which your friends are playing but I believe EA wants to have complete control over the servers lest somebody modified them. All in all this is pretty much like BF 1942/BF2 lite in some regards but then again might be MORE difficult in certain situations. You see - it's basically like a TPP/MMORPG hybrid in which you gain levels and have a gazillion of abilities you need to activate and keep track of. It reminds me of a stripped down Guild Wars with guns or a Tabula Rasa that doesn't actually suck. The vehicles drive almost EXACTLY like in previous BF games, which is nice. Lots of abilities also affect nearby players (in a MMORPG-ish kind of way) so teamwork is really important if you want to succeed. What can I say - I like it a lot - I spent like 15 minutes on the creation of EACH of my characters alone since I wanted them to look thematic. "These pants don't look good enough on him, let's try the next pair." ;-) P.S. People do some REALLY crazy stuff with their characters and I kind of dislike it. I wish EA stuck to character customization in certain WW II (although it's not supposed to be WW II - riiiight...) boundaries, not give players almost complete freedom... |

There are 2 maps, Village and Seaside. They are taking the game to diferent conventions and "Village" is not for the eyes of the public. (it's disabled for the moment, it will come back after the events)(the game is better than I expected)You still can get beta key's by the new method here : http://www.battlefield-heroes.com/news/beta-keys (better set up a rss if you want a key) |

The game is extremely fun to play. It's one of those few games where you don't mind dying ![]() The game feels finished, although the client for manageing characters and joining games needs a bit of work. For alot of people, some of the "boxes" are shown white. They are supposed to have some content, (banners I think), but they dont show. The client crashes pretty often, and sometimes, when it does, you can't login for quite some time, because you are still registered as already playing. Also, the ingame "menu" between games feels bugged. But that is why they have the beta. |

It's cool. As long as there's no ginger hair attached it's cool. Maybe I'll wear that hat into battle. If there's a kilt that would be pretty cool too actually.

I've been trying to play this, but soon after I enter every server it says "There is a problem with your connection" and kicks me from the game. Now this is just fucking balls, as my connection is great. I could play TF2 for 12 straight hours and wouldn't have a problem, so why the shipping tits am I getting kicked from this game? As per usual the forums on their website and useless, with people posting the problem up but nobody is trying to help fix it. It's a shame as well cause it seems like a cool game. |

Yeah you say that Lim, but on my search for possible solutions I noticed that a lot of people seemed to have the same problem on previous Battlefield games. Even after they'd been released to retail.I hope when Heroes is released I don't still encounter this. I know it's free and everything but I still want to play it. |

My friend still has the issue, with me the issue was fixed as soon as I got a new internet connection from different provider: We had 'connection issues' with TF2... after it had been released, my class mate is still experieincing them. Spa servers are one of Very very few, on which he can connect without getting a connectoin error within 30 seconds on that particular server. To make my point, this is not a BF only issue, other games, like TF2/CSS (he has same issues with css) also got people who have problems with connecting. And since this is for you a beta test period, you indeed should bring up the problem so they can fix it. PS: my friend does not have connection issues with other games. so it is not the internet connection which is wrong. |

eeh, that basicly is NOT the same issue, he merely has connection issues...the most idiotic thing about it is that if he joins one of 'us' via the friends system, he does not have the connection issues... |

I have access to it but whenever my router refreshes I have to cart my PC downstairs to plug it into it directly and I'm too drunk to want to do that right now.I'll do it tomorrow. |
