Hi folks,

since I'm running around your servers as a manic pyro for the last days I just wanted to drop a quick note here. I started playing TF2 at the free weekend a couple of weeks ago. Normally I'm not that FPS-online-guy, but a weekend with lots of fun convinced me to work on my rusty skills. I was looking for a nice all-maps server with a good ping (yeah... I have a ping! And it's really great... at least most of the time.. except yesterday :() to play and stumbled upon yours. It's really fun to play there as there aren't any players who think they are TF2-gods and all other are worms. At least I didn't met any ;).

Most of the time I play as solider, demoman or a manic pyro (the latter most of the time... burning enemy spies or get crushed by their heavies), but I also take the role of medic, engineer or heavy if they are missing. I don't get warm with spy and sniper... and scouts. I just don't like scouts. I've played with a couple of [SpA]s and it's a great teamplay... and really hard to play against a group of yours. :D

In RL I'm studying computer science at the TU Braunschweig (in Brunswick, Germany) and just started with my diploma thesis.

So... just a quick note... :)

Yeah... I like being dominated... :/

I'm trying not to run into the enemy mobs, burn them all and then be killed... but my manic pyro genes make me do that all the time... :D

Well starting out as pyro is difficult. Its really a hit and miss class, sometimes you just rack in the kills, other times you can't seem to get anything done.

Soldier and Demoman are pretty solid choices for new players, since they are rather forgiving and their crits instagib everything.

Yeah... already recognized this. Imho it's also very map depending. Maps like hydro or gravelpit are better for pyros than well for example. Once I had a lucky run on hydro... I just made my way right to the other cp, burning 3/4 of the enemy team and captured the cp. 18 points for me and round won. :D

Often it's like spawn -> run to enemy -> burn -> be killed. But if you can handicap the enemy with that method... why not? :D

Yeah... most of my playtime is with soldier (10h), followed by pyro (5h) and demoman (5h). I'm switching these classes depending on map, current situation and team setup.
