I loved Guild Wars, played it for ages and then they managed to nerf every class and farming area so much that you couldn't earn money even if you took the time to do a farming build. So then I quit ;)

Did I see a big ass bear in the background wearing armour? If I can play as a fucking bear I'm getting this!
Also I noticed a serious lack of Dwarves . . . Where's the Dwarves man? The Dwarves!

I didn't get 'GW I' because of the lack of race selection, and I like diversity.

Bears are norn. They're pretty much huge humans that can change into a bear.

As for dwarfs, their race pretty much died out at the end of GW: Eye of the North where The Great Destroyer is defeated. The only surviving dwarfs are the ones that turned into stone 200 years beforehand to fight against The Great Destroyer. You'll most likely be able to see them in GW2 but that will be extremely rare.

I guess the trailer also shows you can play as the Charr and be on the 'good' side?

I always thought that guild wars had the most intuitive and best skill system in any mmo to date. That's probably why I liked it so much.

If it's NON-INSTANCED I won't go for it - I hate cookie-cutter MMORPGs and 100% instances (except for towns) were one of the best features in GW that set it apart from other games. If all the games are the same, then we have no options... They could still make 100 vs 100 battles if they wanted to - in instanced arenas. :-D
However, 100 vs 100 in GW would result in a total clusterfuck. The 12 on 12 Alliance Battles were already a bit chaotic - in that regard GW is more like a shooter (when it comes to optimal player numbers) and less like a MMORPG. The battle system is centered about immensely complicated skill synergies between different characters (there are several hundred skills in GW), so it's all about using the correct builds and using them skillfully.

I heard there will be much less instancing in GW2 and it annoys. Not only that, also the fact that ALL the "new features" are actually all found in traditional MMORPGs already, so ArenaNet is taking a step back in innovation to get another slice of the WoW (et al) pie. GW offered a refuge for all these people that didn't like traditional MMORPGs and now it will be more like them - from a marketing perspective, OK, from the player's point of view it just sucks.

I would have understood a move like that if GW had turned out to be a complete failure but it didn't - it millions and millions of accounts and for a long time it was the second most popular MMORPG in the world. I think NCSoft figured that the thing most (misinformed) people brought up in connection with GW was that it is free to play - so they decided to KEEP the business model while aligning the gameplay more with other MMORPGs - instant cash making machine: "You can do the same thing you can do in other MMORPGs but you can do them for free!"
Most likely they won't have MY cash and don't get me wrong - GW is very close to my heart - I helped shape it into the form it is today because I was an alpha tester (and afterward a 2 year player).

Far less than any other.

Sure if you want bling bling equipment you'll need to farm but you can go against a guy with a glowing axe and a hardcore armor with most basic armor and be equal in power and defense.

That's why GW is praised to have the best PvP among all MMO's (at least in the same category if not among all)

Expanding on what murk said; once you had a level 20 character (reasonably quick leveling) you could earn enough money to get max defence armour without any grinding at all. If you managed to make a character who could farm certain drops area's then you could make enough money to give all your consequent characters max defence armour at level 3/4, which although rather unfair, it was quite funny :P

I had 7 max level characters by the end of my guild wars career and some of them had around 4 different sets of armour for pvp/farming/pve and it didn't take long to get the money for all that. Think about getting 7 max level characters on WoW and then divide that by about 10 or 20, then you probably have the right time for guildwars :3 Grinding for levels was therefore non-existent, if you just went through the story missions you would easily reach level 20 by the end, and you would have a fun time doing it. Also the skill system was mainly about money as well rather than leveling up, which made it a lot more interesting (skills improved solely on attributes rather than leveling the skills up).

Although if you wanted armour for status (very expensive, good looking armour) then you had to do a bit of grinding, personally I didn't see the point because I just wanted to have armour that worked then pvp :P Also they decided to nerf the best grinding area's so I gave up.

I have two accounts in Guild Wars and a max level character with several sets of armor and/or weapons for each primary class (10 in total). :-D
However, I didn't care much about my PvE characters - I mainly used PvP characters (another nice GW feature) on a create/delete basis as I went along, depending on my needs. I didn't play PvE much - I finished each of the campaigns once or twice, leveled all the characters to max level, got them their equipment (not crazy luxury armor with the same stats but different looks) and then switched to PvP completely.

Guild Wars was the least grind-y MMORPG I've ever played and funnily enough this was the biggest criticism traditional MMORPG players had when it comes to the game. "Boohoo - I reach max level so quickly, why can't I grind till like 100? Boohoo - I get max stat items so quickly and all the other people can too - why can't I be the best player in the world just by grinding 24/7 for better equipment?" etc. That's why titles were implemented in the game (they weren't there initially) - all based around repeating the same idiotic tasks hundreds or thousands of times - and players dug them, LOL. Some people simply didn't get the concept of GW - it was a cooperative online RPG with a strong focus on storyline in each of the campaigns and a clear beginning and ending, after which there wasn't much left to do besides PvP. The PvP also worked more like in a shooter (OK, very broadly speaking), in which your characters weren't your "alter egos" but precisely constructed tools of enemy-ownage, kinda like guns.

One of the worst ones was the pathfinding ones, you had to travel to everywhere and search every single part of the entire game map, some people actually did 100% :S

It just labeled people with a big 'I have no life'

That's the explorer one, I have it at 60-something percent for tyria.
I have just 1 maxed title - Legendary Spearmarshall. And even this one took QUITE a while.

I just can't understand people who get GWAMM title (which is like 30 maxed titles) on MULTIPLE characters. That's... just... stupid.

You could play alone, although not really through the main missions. Playing alone was more for farming :3

Farming didn't have a lot of return value too. You could go on a farming run for, I don't know, an hour or so, but doing it any longer in the same area would be stupid since GW had anti-farming mechanisms which diminished your chances to find loot. Personally I haven't farmed a single time in GW - I saw no point. The gold I collected was enough to pay for skills and instead of farming you could go to e.g. Fissure or the re-made Heros' Ascent with your mates and lots of keys and sell the stuff you'd find there on auctions (for in-game gold, not real life money, that is). Much more fun and profitable.

Playing alone only got you so far too - the harder missions were pretty much impossible with bot players but on the other hand the bot players were nice if you were, I don't know, 1 or or 2 players short.

I really like the art direction and the way the world looks. Only thing that bothers me is that the characters look like they came walking out of a Japanese RPG.

Ehem, at first farming was fine, then they implemented the anti farming shizzle. Underworld ectoplasm drops were good and sold for about 9k each, then the price started dropping for and then they nerfed the drop rate so that Underworld farming just became tedious (They also added new enemies to stop people from solo farming, which failed). I made 100,000s doing underworld farming back in the day before they made it so that you had to grind underworld for hours to get enough money for 10% of a perfect weapon. Also tried solo farming Fissure, it just took too long and was rather difficult, it was possible but there was no room for mistakes. I feel like playing it again now, but I know I will just get bored of it, or just get annoyed by how the skills have changed so I have to learn new pvp builds x(. I wonder how many people still play it.

Yeah, changing PvP builds all the time was slightly annoying. Usually people started abusing skills in flavor of the month builds and even if they weren't too powerful, they were simply too popular and ArenaNet wanted players to use all skills more or less equally.
The side effect of this was that if your own original build happened to use one of the skills that got nerfed, then you'd have to start from scratch...

As to farming - I haven't farmed even before they implemented the anti-farming stuff. I made lots of money by selling unique mini-pets I got at the 1 and 2 year marks for all my characters - I still didn't care about my equipment beyond max stats so the money is waiting in my stashes whatever good it does me, especially since I'm not playing anymore. ;-)

By the way - I log in from time to time to see in which direction PvP went and funnily enough many of the very old and forgotten builds still work - skills got nerfed and buffed and sometimes builds that weren't that good before are even better now. Funny stuff. ^^

I'm pretty sure that it was before the minipets when farming was good ;) I never got a good minipet, eventhough I had 8 characters.

I have like 12 minipets. Including a bone dragon and a moa (that one required a few hundred gallons of blood, sweat, tears and internets)

I know - the mini-pets were implemented one year into the game. I'm just saying that farming was never necessary in my case - even before mini-pet's or whatever, I always had enough money unless I wanted to buy luxury armor or weapons which I didn't.
