The Pyro is a she, which has been more or less confermed by VALVe in a interview. The origional setup was to get a female version of each class, or half/half, but they couldn't decide. Therefor, the Pyro is the only female in TF2. The pyro also has a female sort of handbag laying around with her gear in some maps.

From what i understand, the idea is to release female versions, or perhaps the new classes which was talked about a while ago, will be female...
