I'd like to see the "View unread posts" feature implemented on the forum. It's NOT the same as "View new posts". Also, there should be a link to "Mark all forums read" in the "View new posts" search results. This is the kind of functionality that phpBB2 had but phpBB3 hasn't, at least not without modifications. I'm the co-admin on a Polish board game related portal and have added these features already: http://forum.gry-planszowe.pl/index.php (As if anybody knew Polish :-D) Basically you only need to add this mod: http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopi ... 0&t=550149 and edit the search_results.html template. I'd be glad to do it myself if nobody else has the time/motivation/skills to do it but I'm pretty sure FTP and board-admin access isn't handed out to any stranger that comes along. ^^ I can, however, give more precise instructions should anybody express their willingness to perform this task (I have also made a cute little button (read: cheap hack of another default button ;-) for the "mark post as unread" feature which comes with the "unread posts" mod and have edited the styles to show it). |
