Quake3 was always freaking fun. I'm gonna check if i find myself a working version.

Howdy. I was just wondering if any of you knew any decent games out that have a decent deathmatch mode. As much as I enjoy TF and it's team co-operation stylings, I kinda crave the thrill of going it alone against other's. The last PC game I played like this was Unreal Tournament 2003. Obviously UT 3 would seem like the best option then but I've heard it's not that popular and I don't see many folk on my Steam list playing it. Which is to say NOBODY on my Steam list plays it. And before anybody suggests Half Life Deathmatch, it drives me insane. I played it in an internet cafe just before Team Fortress 2 came out and I wanted to slaughter everybody in the place cause they kept killing me with toilets. Cheers guys. |

Call of Duty 4, lately I have been using a sub machine gun with a silencer, and a radar jammer along with smoke grenades. If you know what you're doing you can rack up a lot of kills without getting killed much yourself. |

But it is still basically a teamplay shooter...Freeware: Warsow or Nexuiz... Not that good in the graphics department but kinda fun to play IMHO and popular. I say that from a once avid Q2 gamer's perspective. By the way - you brought up an interesting point here. I just noticed that there are indeed VERY FEW non-teamplay online shooters coming out... It may very well be that co-op shooters are better at creating communities and players drawing each other into the game but I see a major unoccupied niche here (at least nowadays)... |

Teamplay, co-op, community and such things are quite popular these times and somehow the players demand on games having such features. It's not a bad development in my eyes and I think that's a development which moves games to a new level thanks to massive spreading of internet accesses. Sure you could make an hardline single player game, but 1) it won't be that popular and 2) some kind of online thing is a good garantuee for ppl buying your stuff. (*) *) This is mainly addressed to the genres we're talking here about. |

Would anybody here be up for downloading and playing a couple of games of Quake 3 Arena? It's a relatively small file, it's got decent gameplay mechanics and it actually works online |

TF 2: Take a Spy and you need no teamplay.... Just run around and stab some slow heavies.... |

well... I think I Still have my Q3A Game installed and i'd love to play it once again ^^
