BT will invest 1.5 billion pound in their Fiber network so by 2012 around 1 million UK households will have Fiber access. |

Yeah I just read an article on this. I'm a little sceptical as always to be honest. BT have really let their service slip in the past couple of years and I'm not exactly their biggest fan right now. The final straw for me was when I learnt that they won't put an access point any further than a metre into your house, which basically forces you to go wireless. I reckon this is so they can sell their stupid BT Wireless Hub. Well I didn't, I got a Linksys instead. It doesn't change the fact there was no choice but to purchase a router though. It's absolute bullshit. It never used to be like that. My Grandad has access points in his loft for Christ sakes and I can't even get one that goes further than my front porch. I do want 100mbps though. Although it would probably still take 3 weeks to download Crysis from a torrent site. |

If they're putting that much money into it I hope they make it future proof for the grid. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Grid_% ... ication%29 |
