This is a really bizarre issue, but if i add a new favourite server in tf2 then my BT Home Hub router goes through a reset routine and i lose wireless throughout my house while it reboots ![]() Anyone come across this before? |

We (my family) have had a similar problem. Every time my dad connected his old laptop to our wlan, the old router would freeze. Unfortunately, we never found out why. Since routers are fairly cheap, my dad just bought a new one and the problems disappeared. ![]() |

Heh? This is pretty impossible as these things are totally unrelated... There must be another connection you're not seeing. =) |

Nothing is impossible with Windows. Perhaps some f***ed up portforwarding in the router or whatever. ![]() Have you tried to reset the router to factory defaults and try from the scratch? |

Could it have something to do with uPnP? I know some routers have an option to enable/disable this. Sounds unlikely though, as your Windows box shouldn't affect your router unless you have some software installed for the router itself. Other than that, what SaintK said :p |

In all my years of working in IT and dealing with router issues, I have never come across anything like this before ![]() I would maybe suggest to upgrade your firmware if you can, as mentioned above. Try to check out your NAT and/or UPnP settings. |

from the NAT table overfill problem that you see happening allot, the router most problably halt, and not reboot, will it?weird problem. can you replicate it? ergo does it happen every time you add a fav server? and only then? |

Probably the router's firmware (or hardware) has a low connection limit. E.g. the KAD Network in eMule used to crash my crappy D-Link router until I got myself a Linksys WRT54GL and put a custom firmware onto it. =) |
