Fake - Valve wouldn't release a brochure like this with tons of orthographical and grammatical errors. As usual some guy has awesome image editing skills but sadly fails at elementary education... More school, less playing video games, please... That you guys don't notice the errors and have to speculate instead makes it all the sadder... :-\ |

Quote: I don't know what u want to show there but his grammar is good , no errors
Oh, don't get me started. ^^1. "on the new map" 2. comma before "which" (non-restrictive relative clause) 3. "the time limit" 4. no comma before "there" 5. no comma before "but" 6. "had been destroyed" (more of a stylistic error) 7. "to make the fight also focus on pacing" (word order) 8. again, there should be no comma before "but" 9. missing subject and missing indefinite article "an" in the relative clause 10. missing article before Heavy 11. missing article before speed 12. missing article before Heavy again 13. missing article before Scout, twice 14. missing article before health 15. missing article before Heavy, should be capitalized as in previous cases 16. no comma before "all" (disputable) 17. missing reference for "ones" (players comes at the end of the sentence) 18. missing article before "Demoman's" 19. customizations "don't change" and "make" - wrong conjugation These are only the grammatical errors... No, you can't object to these unless you were studying English descriptive grammar for four semesters like I have. ;-) P.S. Yes, I make mistakes as well but at least I'm trying to avoid them... I'm very glad when people point out my errors because only then am I able to learn from them. =) |

It's funny that you mention that. In fact I AM allowed to teach both English and German at Polish schools due to my studies... I even had to go through several weeks of a teaching practicum at a local secondary school. ^^ For all intents and purposes you could say that I'm an English teacher (of course I could teach it only as a foreign language) although I'm not working as one (but the skills come in handy for journalists and translators as well). :-D |

I had courses in psychology, pedagogy and glottodidactics (a fancy name for "language teaching") to be able to become a teacher even if I didn't want to... I didn't have much choice in that matter. ;-) Descriptive grammar (English and German) was also aimed more or less at teaching... |

How about "These customizations doesn't change gameplay - but makes killing a lot more stylish!"? (I missed the erroneous dash in this one.) That's almost in "All your base are belong to us!" territory... ;-) |

Though most of the red stripes are valid, at least one is not. "Heavies" is spelled correctly. Heavy's is wrong. Apart from all the gramatical failures in the text the overal 'feel' of the text is not 'VALVe'... there is no 'pride' in the text like 'We are happy to announce' or we are proud to announce If I'm not mistaken the first to releases had such texts On to the content itself, I doubt that you will be able to manipulate the snipers hat, as it is part of his identifiction, and then the other upgrades, I think it isn't very likely valve would implement these, and if they did, making them so dark would not be a good point either since everyone will know where to find the eventually.... nice try of the dude though, but not good enough. |

A little (non-funny but quite witty) riddle for Lim-Dul and his Grammar-Nazi powers: What's the difference between a cat and a complex sentence? |

I'm a spelling and grammar Nazi and it is rather obvious that this "brochure" has poor grammar in some places. I think Lim-Dul is definitely correct here. However, I do like the ideas presented in the brochure. I'm loving the speed boost ![]() |

Boots O' Speed? Energizer!? Didn't Valve get my various e-mail's outlining the perfect power-up!? A gun that completely nerf's an opponent! Say for example you hit a Demoman with it. It takes the damage of his grenades and stickies down to 1 HP. You could stand there, laughing maniacally as he fires round after round pointlessly at you. Then you could swagger over and gently bludgeon him to death while he types furiously about how much he hates you. Satisfying non? |

This game will soon be either a MMORPG ( because the gabe is fag and plays wow ) or Unreal tournament game Anyway here is a good question : Who the hell is too idiot to make a fake like this, i mean what's the point ? why to work hard for nothing ? ( i think the guy that made it worked hard at it , it's almost perfect ) |

He, he - I know that riddle since my descriptive grammar lecturer told it once - the English lecturer (a Pole, but one who spent years abroad) was very funny while the German one was very boring (stereotypes confirmed! :-D).I think I mentioned a part of the riddle in my list: A sentence can have a clause (e.g. a relative clause) and a cat has claws. Indeed, both nouns are pronounced identically if we look at the simplified phonetic transcription (a.k.a. phonemic transcription): /'kloËz/. |

Post subject: | Re: True / False ? |
Partly correct. A cat has claws at the end of its paws but a complex sentence has a pause at the end of its clause. But you were close enough ![]() |

Post subject: | Re: True / False ? |
Ooh - an extended version with paws and a pause - now that I didn't know. ^^ |
