Me: Hello, I would like to receive the PPP username and password so i can configure my Cisco to work on my Alice internet connection
Alice support: Sorry, we don't support routers
Me: I am not looking for support on my router, i'm looking for my userdetails which are hidden in the crappy Copperjet
Alice support: Sir, we don't support routers
Me: I said i'm not looking for support, i'm looking for my PPP user details
Alice support: From your modem you mean?
Me: Whatever you want to call it
Alice support: Thats user/user
Me: No, thats the login details for the crappy Copperjet modem you send me...
Alice support: Then what are you looking for?
Me: The PPP details for my internet connection so i can esteblish a connection trough my own router
Alice support: Sir, we dont support routers
Me: ARRRRGH!!! LISTEN TO ME!! I DO NOT WANT SUPPORT ON MY ROUTER, I WANT MY PPP DETAILS!!!
Alice support: Hang on sir
Me waiting waiting waiting
Alice support: Thanks for waiting, I'm sorry, we cant hand out this information trough the phone as its privacy details
Me: Bullshit, you use 1 username and password on your whole network, something along the lines of dsl0@alice, i've bloody supported your core network
Alice support: Sorry, can't hand it out by phone
Me: So how i get it? Write a freaking letter?
Alice support: You could try that, but i doubt you'll receive a reply
Me: wtf?

And thats were i decided it was pointless to stay on the phone...

I mean WTF dumb fuckin idiots. They put some highschool girl on the phone, reading up stuff from a sheet, being completely clueless on what she is talking about. How the fuck to you get some propper support at these company's....

Ha, ha - reminds me of my old ISP - every time I wanted to report a problem on THEIR side I had to go through their call-center checklist and usually finished on the "please reinstall your system" item. ;-)

Surely she can't be the only one working there... I usually ask for like one of the senior support members if I'm getting stuck in a catch 22 conversation like that one.

Reminds me of the phonecall I made to KPN when we got on 'internetten + bellen'

She basicly asked me the following:

"Can you unplug the phone wire which goes into the router... without disconnecting it..."

My thought.. Oh... My... God... how on earth can I pull out the phone line... without disconnecting the call...

And as I also knew that she did would not know the answer anyhow... I did.. and guess what -> the connection was lost..

Eventually turned out the we forgot to replace the splitter with the new one..

Haha, Alice's support line is so different in different regions. In some Areas, you'll have the best support and in some there are people, who can't even spell their own name. I'm glad I'm using Arcor =)
