Yo. I was looking at folks profiles and I noticed that there is an option to add them as either friend or foe's, hence the thread title! So after adding;

Lim-Dul
Beserker
Mint
Village Crackhead
Blackhawk
Saint K
Roofuz
NabNab
Baal
Lim-Dul
Undead Druid
Noodle
McBiff
Quattro
bOse
Max
And Lim-Dul as foes, I got to thinking. What does this option actually do, if anything at all?

It hides their posts on the forums leaving only a message that they wrote something. Basically it makes it easier for everybody to insult you behind your back like the infamous Usenet plonking. ^^

In fact, that list isn't people who would be my foes, it's actually a list of people I secretly love :oops:

So, if u add someone as foe and u check a topic where he posted, u wont see his post?
And for what friends? Will u get a msg everytime one of ur friends post something or what?

If you add someone as a foe you'll be getting the following message instead of the post:

If you click on "Display this post." you'll still be able to read it.

If you add somebody to your friends list their posts will be highlighted (if the forum has such an option in the theme template) and you will have easy access to their nicknames e.g. in PMs (if you're not using the PM button and choose to send e.g. bulk PMs)... I think they will be indicated with a different color on the online list or something as well. That's basically it...

Apart from the posts, private messages comming from friends or foes are tagged(color) in your PM list, and you can use the list as a sort of addressbook in yur PM's.
