I've used it and it's pretty good o:
It's now 100-200fps <3

I checked it out. It does speed up your game but it also makes it look like crap depending on what options you choose. There are no wonder tweaks unless you go for the unstable mat_queue_mode 2... The settings are not found in the graphics settings tab BUT they are available as CVARs...

P.S. If you have 100-200 FPS then you have probably disabled VSync. DON'T disable VSync. Your monitor can't display 100-200 FPS anyway so you will only get image tearing/shifting... If VSync causes you trouble then at least set fps_max to your monitor's refresh rate +1.

apart from that, your eyes cant even register so much fps, so its kinda useless to have that high fps

Even if they could your monitor refreshes at 60-75 Hz, perhaps 100 Hz (iterations per second if you don't know what Hertz are) if you're on a CRT monitor. Hence everything above 60-75 or 100 FPS is simply not displayed because your monitor can't physically keep up. Unlimited FPS are only good for showing off your internet penis and benchmarks. ;-)

vsync was already screwing up for me in the first place xD
And I know that, that much, isn't noticeable at all~

What is your refresh rate, Futari? Set fps_max to 61 or 76 to avoid (most) screen tearing.

Post subject:  Re: TF2 Tweaker.

yeah it was set to 61, I did that some time ago~
I hate it when some tf2 update screws up my config O;

So true. That's pretty much the only solution that is guaranteed to work. ^^

If you average a 100FPS.. it's time to go to your settings and increase the visuals... though if you have one of those latest computers even on the highest detail you could easily get 100fps

im playing TF2 on high, no antialiasing or motion blur, with an avg fps on around 35, never thought a little bit bigger screen would make such a big difference, but whatever

1680x1050
4 x AA
16 x AAF

All settings to maximum - I average about 80fps.

I sense e-peen cockfights!

Average of 80 and 90 FPS? Soo... Again more than your monitor can show? ^^

Post subject:  Re: TF2 Tweaker.

OK - a bump of that topic and a huge warning!

[SpA]UndeadDruid told me that he was unable to spray spraypaints after using the Tweaker! Even after "restoring the original settings"! Since many of them "stick" to config.cfg or settings/user.scr after being invoked once.

After deleting pretty much all the configs (config.cfg and even settings.scr and user.scr) the problem was solved.

Also, I found out that the tweaker will NOT restore your old autoexec.cfg or, in fact, your old settings, after writing its own - it overwrites it and deletes everything later... Why it doesn't append e.g. a *.bak extension to the old autoexec.cfg and config.cfg instead is beyond me.

This time I really delved deep into what the Tweaker does.
I'll list all the variables the Tweaker uses when you check them all (you can simply open autoexec.cfg after using it):
Code:
r_fastzreject 1 //Alternative Z-Buffer algorithm. Use -1 for enabling it only with compatible hardware otherwise it might DECREASE PERFORMANCE.
mat_disable_bloom 1 //Pretty clear - disable bloom effect
mat_specular 0 //Disables reflections e.g. on glass
r_3dsky 0 //Disables any 3D skyboxes which results in epic shittyness - check it out on 2fort -.-
r_dynamic 0 //Disables dynamic lighting, huge performance gain
r_shadows 0 //No shadows
mat_dxlevel 81 //Always uses DirectX 8 rendering for epically shitty looks ;-)
muzzleflash_light 0 //No muzzle flashes (on enemy models)
cl_ejectbrass 0 //No shells are ejected when firing (on enemy models)
cl_show_splashes 0 //No "splash" effects, e.g. in water or pretty rocket explosions
r_decals 0 //Maximum amount of decals, e.g. bullet holes, on world objects (globally)
mp_decals 0 // "Custom" decal limit (e.g. Sprays). Why not LOWER it (as well as r_decals) instead? Why isn't this a separate option? (UndeadDruid's problem)
r_drawmodeldecals 0 //No decals on models (e.g. blood) - takes away much of TF2's "charm"
r_waterforceexpensive 0 //Disables water (light) reflections (makes it look crappy)
r_waterforcereflectentities 0 //Disables water reflecting objects, good for performance
cl_phys_props_enable 0 //Disables physics on props (e.g. bottles etc.)
cl_ragdoll_collide 0 //Do ragdolls, well, collide or can you simple walk "through" them.
cl_ragdoll_fade_time 0 //After what amount of time do ragdolls fade
cl_ragdoll_physics_enable 0 //Disables ragdoll physics and again takes away much of the game's "charm"
cl_forcepreload 1 //Actually useful - loads [b]all[/b] the data BEFORE starting to play. Will lengthen load times but reduce stutters/hickups
cl_showfps 1 //Just shows the FPS
Be SURE to check out what they do (type them in in Google if you must ^^) before setting any of them and changing them manually (simple pasting them into team fortress 2 -> cfg -> autoexec.cfg) while being aware of their impact on the game is WAY safer (since you don't delete/overwrite anything and can still have your personal cfg).

The Tweaker does nothing except changing these settings and it doesn't even use many other "hidden" tweaks that can improve performance.

This time my intention really IS to say: DO NOT use the program, especially if you don't know what you're doing! And Shizz, please don't encourage people to download it! It can mess up your settings without a proper working option to restore them! (Stating it as clearly as possible now so that I'm not being misunderstood like in the Spray guide, where my intentions were completely different. If you want to get mad at me then this is the more appropriate topic. ;-)

I STRONGLY recommend listening to someone who explains things in greater detail (the Tweaker "lies" a bit to the users and treats them like idiots without doing anything "magical") and since some people take me for a smartass trying to prove something use e.g. this reference written by another guy:

http://whisper.ausgamers.com/wiki/index ... xec_Tweaks

And in general read this page (applies to TF2 as well!):

http://whisper.ausgamers.com/wiki/index.php/Main_Page

It doesn't come with a pretty GUI and checkboxes BUT you're in full control of what you're doing, it explains everything nicely and you'll be wiser after following it - not to mention that it applies to ALL games running on the Source Engine should you e.g. want to tweak Left4Dead in future. :-D

I wrote all of the above to save ME some time since a few people (most recently UndeadDruid) who used the Tweaker, messed up their game and had to ask me to fix it. -.-
