I could go on about great games I like that I still play every now and then.. so what makes old games bad? Certainly not their age

good graphics have so many more factors than number of polygons.

Its still a good game. There is nothing wrong with the fundamental game-play and for a lot of people it is a very nostalgic title.

A good artstyle is just as, if not more important than having insane numbers of polygons or resolution.

Just look at Okami, The Legend of Zelda: The Windwaker, World of Warcraft, Team Fortress 2.

All of those games are by no means technical graphic hotshots, but the arstyle makes them look very good and makes the graphics last a lot longer than <insert random realistic looking game here>.

Go play any of those games and compare them to other games from around the same period of time. Tell me which has aged better?

So very true.
Look at old LucasArts adventure games as well! If the graphical direction for a game was brilliant at the time it was released it ages VERY well. If a game has nothing to offer but technical gimmicks it will be forgotten in several years when the technology advances.

Yeah, take a look at old Playstation era 3d-games and 2d-games that were released around the same time and tell me which look better today.

Yep, that was my point exactly, though less elaborately put.

But, back on point:
WOO!
We should definitely set up some nice 4 way battles or 2v2 battles.

Yeah! Played the old LucasArts adventures since I had a PC who could run them and I'll play them for the rest of my life every now and then. Go Indy, go Guybrush!

I'm getting around 40-50kb/s. Doesn't help that the power went when I had 80% downloaded.
