As everybody probably knows HD DVD recently suffered a very painful and humiliating defeat at the hands of Blu-Ray. It was all a bit shit but these things happen.

Anyway, I actually bought the Xbox 360 HD DVD add-on back when I thought it was going to be the dog's bollocks. The thing is though, there's a shop in Glasgow that still sells them for a fiver each. So I've been snapping them up like mad recently.

The thing is, HD-DVD is dead but it's still HD and it looks fantastic. And being so cheap I'm buying films I wouldn't have ordinarily bought either cause they're old or cause they're comedy or something. I bought Enter the Dragon which is actually pretty slick looking.
And Shaun of the Dead. Which is just brilliance.

I don't really know what'll happen when my HD player kicks the bucket. Maybe there's a way I can rip them all or something. But for now, I'll continue to enjoy HD-DVD until there's no more films to buy.

See Hot Fuzz? I've seen it about 20 times mate, it's superb.

Hell, I went to the cinema to see it twice. I also have it on HD DVD.

Wasn't that big of a fan of Hot Fuzz either. Shaun of the Dead is amazing though.

Thought of buying an HD-DVD-ROM, too, as they "lost" against BR. New HD-DVDs are (were?) costing less than the same thing on a regular DVD, but I didn't jump on that train.

Tbh i've always been a fan of Blu Ray (For reasons i CBA to type out), but i kinda wish i had a hd dvd add on right now for my 360 to snap up all these cheap HD DVDs, because as u say, hd is still hd, cheap hd is good.

the 360 hd dvd drive doesn't render in 1080p though, only 1080i? Boooo!
