In case anyone's wondering what I've been doing recently, there's your answer.

Now, I tried getting into this beta with such heat and passion that I ended with an extra code. Judging by my PSN ID thread there aren't that many PS3 owners here, but I thought I would check here anyway if anyone's interested in a code before giving it away to random dudes on the US Playstation forums.

One thing worth mentioning is that the code is American, so you need to activate it with a US PSN account. Once you've downloaded and installed it you can play with your main account.
If you don't know how to make a US account I can help you or you can google it, there are some guides posted on various websites. It's very easy.

The beta ends October 11th.

It just so happens that I got another code so both Crovax and Sonny can have one, check your PM's.

EDIT: How to create a US account:

First, create a new email address on gmail or something, you can't use the same as your main account.

Scroll to the extreme left of the crossbar and create a new user.
Next scroll to the right and sign up for the Playstation Network.

You will be asked to select a master account or sub account. Choose master account (top).

Next, you will be asked to enter your email address, password, security question. Nothing strange here.

Next, you will be asked to enter your address. The street can be anything but the postal code has to be real, just enter 08648. (the postal code for New Jersey)

Next, enter your first name, last name. (I just made these up)

Done!

Go to Account Management on the XMB, select Transaction Management
and click on the option "Redeem PLAYSTATION(R)Network Card or
Promotion Code." and enter the code.

Once it's downloaded and installed you should be able to play it on your main account.

By the way - if games like this one get you with their charm you should by all means check out World of Goo coming out on October 13th or October 6th if you preordered.

PSN ID: Doomshine.

I'm going to try and get at least one level published before the beta ends, but it's clear to me now that if you want to do more than "LOLROCKETCAR" it's going to take some time.

Fuck, my level is gone, I got the dreaded save data corruption. I'm not going through the tutorials again to redo it so I'm just going to play online for the rest of the beta.

However, after playing the level "God of War - Demon Skull", I just felt embarrassed.
It's fun to play and visually pleasing to boot. Try it out, it's easily the best level I have played so far.

How did you get it like soooo early. Official release date was 24th of october :s

Also Little Big Planet is delayed. Global recall of all copies due to a song containing references to the Quran.

Speculation points to 14th of november as a new release date

Post subject:  Re: Little Big Planet Beta

tbh, its bit of a mystery for me too :)

i pre-ordered LBP (german version) 2 or 3 weeks ago on my favorite online store (http://www.spielegrotte.de) cos you usually get games 1-2 days before official launch and in most cases its the cheapest store!

so, everything was fine so far and then, this weeks tuesday, i browsed that shop again to order some other stuff (dead space & fallout 3) and guess what i found: LBP (english version, with full german localisation like almost every ps3 game :) ) to be released on wednesday, 15th october

i sent an email to them and asked if they can change my order to the english version or if i should cancel and make a new one. so they told me to cancel and order the english version what i did just minutes after the e-mail, and well, i received that absolutely fantastic game on thursday :4

and the mystery about that is that the english version is no longer available (i think the shop only had a couple of copies, or maybe only 1 or 2, and sold them within minutes) and the new release date shows 31.october (on spielegrotte) and 4.november (on amazon)

lucky, lucky me

just found that on kotaku: http://kotaku.com/5065076/littlebigplan ... references

I ordered mine @ spielegrotte too, but the version to appear on 31st october.
Think I'll just wait till then.
Because I've already payed the game and considering possible later DLC I'll stick to the european version.
Have fun playing! 8)

What makes this game good? lol.

I own a ps3, i just think i'm missing the point.

Post subject:  Re: Little Big Planet Beta

Read about it on the internet. :-D

You're not necessarily missing the point. Remember that not every game suits every player. E.g. people love the GTA series - I don't care about them at all. Don't despair if you don't like a highly rated title or like a lowly rated one. Both reviews and opinions of certain people are only guidelines you might or might not follow when buying or playing a certain game although they usually are a good indication what the chances are that a given game MIGHT appeal to you or if there are other games of the same type that are simply better.

Some unbelievable creations are being made in LBP, im totally shocked and stunned by this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZiRgYBHoAoU - 8 bit calculator build in LBP beta using
- 610 magnetic switches
- 500 Wires
- 430 pistons
- 70 emitters
I'm amazed what can be made in this game and what creative minds will think of  :67 :18

THAT IS SICK!

Even though its pretty much a novelty level, and not much fun can be had with it :P But just imagine this implemented into a proper level :P
