Huh? Less games come out for the PC? I think, no, I KNOW the opposite is true. While you're right that many companies shifted their focus on consoles and hence we see more big-budget titles released exclusively or earlier on consoles, the PC still has the largest market reach and overall number of games released.
Basically there's been an ongoing discussion and quite a few market studies ever since Cliff Bleszinski said that PC gaming is dying. This is coupled with some industry-clowns claiming that piracy is killing PC game sales... However, a series of articles by market analysts and pure statistics have meanwhile proven that Cliff couldn't have been more wrong. =)
You can follow everything on sites like GamesIndustry.biz or Gamasutra and I think the dudes over at Rock, Paper & Shotgun documented the most important milestones in this discussion.
I don't have access to that sort of info, so i go by what i see in magazines (significantly less "coming soon" major pc titles) and in super markets and game stores, pc gaming is very regularly given a tiny amount of space.
