Ok guys, for some reason, I am having 200+ ping on SpA servers and everywere else.
Here is a picture of a speed test on a Portuguese site (it isn't NSFW, just too big):
As you can see, I can do downloads at 1.94 Mb/s, so download speeds aren't a problem. Uploads are usually 90 to 100 Kb/s.

Here is the favorites servers on Steam:

What the hell.

I use a Belkin F5D8231-4 N1 Router and a Thompson modem from the ISP (obviously). I have everything properly configured, with the ports and static IP and DMZ.
I only have like less than 35 servers with a ping less than 100. Yesterday, we had a pretty bad day with rain, lightings and whatnot. However, the light never went out here. It may be the ISP that has technical issues. Saturday morning I was playing on a SpA server with 45-60 ping.

Sooo... A little help here? lol

Latency is caused by bad peering, hardware malfunction etc. and it has nothing to do with bandwidth. In fact, a high latency can effectively choke your transfer rate.

I suggest you call the ISP the next time you have problems.

If don't want to sit around you could also do a traceroute to specialattack.net and see where exactly is the latency hitting the roof.
for eg, here's mine: Image

Mine's jumping as soon as the packets leave the country, but that's normal. :P

As for the bandwidth test, do one on speedtest.net. Select a server from Amsterdam, Paris or something.

This is because that test you did was for a server in Portugal so it could've been done in the internal network and what you want is to test your transfer speed for the external networks.

p.s. I gave you my results so you have something to compare with. I usually get 40-80 latency in tf2.

Yeah, somewhere between cprm.net and leaseweb.net servers something's not good. But you can't do anything about that so just call them and tell them the latency is interfering with your business agenda. Threaten to sue..stuff like that.

Pm me your IP, then i can do a trace back and submit it to Leaseweb, they can prolly do a reroute.
