I am looking at which ASA to buy as hardware firewall. Now i would really want a 19" rack mountable, but their damn expensive (from what i can find the 5510 which is 19" rack mountable, starts at $2000,-). The other option is the ASA 5505 which go's for less then 300E, but is not rackmountable. Anyone here happends to be able to get their hands on a cheap 19" rackmountable ASA? |

(these days I do a lot of business with fortinet, u ever thought about such stuff?) Hiya, yea, i thought about fortinet, but my expertise lies with with Cisco. Here is what i think i'll do. I'll buy a ASA 5505, rip it apart, build it in a empty 19" case, then it will be rackmountable aswell |

Wut. They are expensive just because they're mountable on a rack?Anyone here happends to be able to get their hands on a cheap 19" rackmountable ASA? Now I don't know anything about servers and all that jazz, but couldn't you just create your own railings out of ice cream sticks or similar? I know I could. (Also, wouldn't this thread fit better in the "Hard and software" forum?) |
