Got my uni offers, have to decide. Vote on whatever you want for whatever reason Which would you choose? EDIT: I don't mind if you don't know the unis, i mean rate the cities, which city would you pick? To live in? Doesn't matter about the education reputation |

Doubt that many people here have actually visited or went to these unis. |

I've been to Cambridge, also at the university, saw some living rooms, took action in an english conversation lesson, saw the cafeteria and the garden. Was pretty impressive, clean and comfortable designed. But its not on ur list. |

Im at University of Sheffield, just done my PhD their for 4 years and now doing a post-doctorate for a further 3. Top University, great student union (think it's the best of any UK university recently voted by students) and a great city. |

London for sure. Never been there, but out of all the places, to my subjective opinion, london sounds the coolest by far! |

London is expensive as hell. It's a nice place to visit and everything but if you're going to be there for a minimum of 3 years I wouldn't pick it, even if you are entitled to more student loan and stuff cause you're studying there.Never been there, but out of all the places, to my subjective opinion, london sounds the coolest by far! I still wouldn't do it. Go to Liverpool, they know how to have a good time up there. |

Nottingham or liverpool, although Vote for Nottingham as it has one of the best nightlifes, the most curry houses in a city, the statistic for single women between 18-25 in nottingham is like 3 for every male or something stupid and its a nicer Uni. London is too expensive to be a student in and sheffield? SHEFFIELD? IS THAT EVEN WORTH AN ANSWER? no. thats my answer |

Nottingham. If its still the same as about 10 years ago there is a much larger female to male ratio than any other city in the country. Need anymore convincing? |

and what exactly is wrong with Sheffield? Im not going to say I love the place (as im not from their) but been out round Notts, Liverpool and London and each has their own positives/negatives as does Sheffield so I think it is worth an answer i.e. not just saying not really worth an answer. Like I say I have been a postgraduate student here for the last 4 years and it does some good beers...or maybe im just too old and don't get it

I've lived in london, liverpool and sheffield. London - Over hyped, shit housing, expensive, pretentious and the nightlife is sporadic. It is however huge, full of people & interesting places and its easy to get employed part time. Liverpool - High crime rates, orange girls, (Sorry DrMcMoist) awful acent, great transport links. On the Upside its the true party city on the list, wine flows and the nightlife is great. Sheffield - Knife crime, Prostitutes, Some very run down slums, apathy, Worst of all Its a town trying to be a city. I have however lived in this city longer than I've lived in anyone place in my life, Nightlife is good, its cheap and surounded by some of the nicest country in the UK I guess it depends what you want from a city... BTW the thing with the high male to female student stats apparently still holds true at Notts. |

Sheffield is the "greenest city in England" and it has a cool retro 90s bar called Babylon. Sold! In liverpool isn't the high crime rate focused on car thefts? Or is that just a misconception and it's got a high everything rate ?:P Car stolen every 60 seconds apparently. |

Oh right, yeah. I made a post saying I liked scouse accents...To be honest I could take em' or leave em'. And since I'm the highly changeable sort I would probably leave them now. In fact.... FUCK Liverpool! Go to Sheffield instead. For no reason. |

Car thefts is a massive part of the crime rate, but I've been mugged and assulted in liverpool and know countless people who've had the same experiance. In liverpool isn't the high crime rate focused on car thefts? Or is that just a misconception and it's got a high everything rate ?:P Car stolen every 60 seconds apparently. Its a shame to because I really like the city, I've always enjoyed my time there just all to often bad things happen. |
