I am thinking about making server 3 32 slots. Personally i like the more chaos the better!

Please note this vote is *only* about server 3! Servers 1 and 2 will remain untouched.

Thats not a good idea, since good 32 slot servers require proper maps - on most standard map thats just demoman spamfest all the time :/

We could regulate this with the classlimiter plugin which runs on our servers.

Well one demoman can make a map a spam fest, as i did on steel today :/ But anyway, i dont mind. Do you think there's any chance of a no-crit server? Or is that not ever going to happen? :wink:

as long as they don't replace the current servers and that you think there'll be enough demand for them, go for it.
but can we not have 2fort in rotation? I think everyone's agreed it's the most boring map in the world. :<

I'm also up for a nocrits server, as I (sometimes) actually enjoy that more :p

I find that I'm always playing dustbowl and goldrush so now I just spam SpA points whenever I'm on to get rid of them. Turbine, Fastlane, Well and Badlands are better maps by far :(

No, because i know you will want us to fill up that server. And then all my buddies are playing on that crappy 32 slot server and then I get to choose between playing on a 24 players server or play on the spamtastic 32 player one with my buddies

I think the game has been for over a year, so most players who know the game plays 4-5 standard maps just like every other game ( cs, battlefields, call of duty etc. ), so the server will empty or maps like steel, turbine, not to mention any not standard map. Ya know, pro players cant let them die because they dont know every inch of a map ;)

You don't need to know a map to kill on it, just sit near a door and plant stickies on it, set up a sentry or camp it with a heavy/soldier and your set for the whole game, especially on 14vs14.

I actually played on the custom map server quite a lot when I was in Grr!, some of the maps are pretty fun, especially playing geothermal as a soldier.

And what happens when the server is empty? Saint spams us invites to fill it up/we join to fill it up, all my buddies I like to play with go onto that server and I can choose between the spamtastic server with my buddies on it or a normal server without any buddies.

32 players just sucks, its way too spammy. I dunno who here enjoys getting grenade/rocket spammed and chokepoints but I sure don't. More does not equal better. At a certain point more just becomes an obstacle, think about it like this. 1 barman behind the bar can serve 5 spamembers relatively fast. 2 barmans can do 12 relatively fast, 3 can do 20 relatively fast, 4 can only do 24 relatively fast since they will get in eachothers way. There is a reason valve official number is max 24 players. After that point the gameplay just starts degrading too much and too many stalemates will appear.

Well, I'd never play on a 32 player server because of the spamfest. There's little for me to add after Crovax's post, and I agree with him.

I want to change my vote to it not happening, I hate spam fests (Unless im doing it to make a point about steel :mrgreen:). It will probably be ok for demo's and soldiers since they do large splash damage, but for other classes it will be to much spam. (Even heavies with medics will be boned against all the demo's and soldiers)

Did this ever happen? I find anything over 24 players to be a bit overkill, so I voted a big fat no.
Would be fun to have a server with 8vs8, no crits and maps like granary, badlands, well etc.
I know at least one certain not so big moose who probably agrees with me. :)
