Post subject:  "Spawn camping"
You admins in general seem to have very different ideas of what is allowed and what is not.

Any chance of getting a conclusive answer on whether this is allowed or not?

Spawn camping is allowed. It's a valide game tactic in TF2.

I am not sure what mini said exactly, but me personally I frown upon spawncamping with a class that can just sit somewhere out of line of sight and instagib anyone who tries to go out. Especially on push the cart maps.

I frown upon spawncamping for the general purpose of spawncamping as well. i am fine with getting camped the last few seconds of a match, but somebody who goes and makes it his goal to spawncamp can pack his bags and play somewhere else in my opinion.

Mr. m3n never speaks to Crovax and is also seldom on at the same time as him, thus he is curious as to how.

Especially considering how m3n's always polite and well-mannered on the servers.

m3n, we were trying to fill the server in the morning and you and the person called electron were spawncamping with stickies all the time which ruins the game when there are low numbers (since noone can do much about 8 stickies being blown in their face), so i enforced a temporary rule disallowing it. The electron guy in my opinion should be banned since he was rude to admins and everyone else on the server, when he should actually be respecting our decisions. You should express both sides of the story when you try and argue about it.

If some of the more high skilled players had one single goal, which was to spawn camp, then none of the attacking teams would ever move, especially when there are only 4 people on each team.

I don't remember you being well-mannered this morning tbh, and being a smartass doesn't get the admins on your side.

Spawncamping is a very valid tactic,

but Mini's point is valid too, it's difficult to fill a server when 2 people are spawncamping, it just makes people leave instead...

but other than that, I have nothing against spawncamping besides being bloody annoying

I asked the question on IRC, then went on playing for about 30 minutes. I was then struck by a power cut due to a faulty stove (don't worry, I was able to cook in time before fatigue kicked in).

The only action I do against spawncamping is strongly insulting the guy with "pusseh" or "spawnwhore".

Yep i am that rude!

I dislike spawncamping. I dont like to be camped and I dont do it on my own (besides in melee funmatches). In a regular game, aka 20+ players, we as admins care about balancing the teams out if spawncamping is a real issue and dont yell VERBOTEN at spawncampers. As I said in a regular game. With 4 or 5 players you cant tune much on the teams ;)

Get an uber you say?

Well that takes quite a while to build, all the while the opposing team is pushing the cart easily because nobody can move out of spawn without getting instagibbed by two demoman and a soldier camping the door. Its really stupid and annoying on push the cart maps if you are the defending team. on offense you got the time to build up an uber and clear it out.

If there are 4 on your team then your lucky to get a medic, also they will normally be very stupid and just run out and suicide.
