Quote:
- Pipebombs now get a reduced close range damage ramp up (like Rocket Launcher & Syringe Gun)
- Ultimately reduces damage done by pipebombs to enemies <512 units from the Demoman
- Moved the unlockable system over to the new item backend:
- Added a warning dialog to the loadout screen telling clients when the server they're on could not get their loadout
- Made "tf_damage_disablespread" a replicated convar, so clients can see the value of it on the server they're connected to
- Renamed "mp_stalemate_at_timelimit" to "mp_match_end_at_timelimit", to better explain its function now that stalemate is optional
- Protected several more commands from client exploitation
- Fixed muzzle flashes & shell ejections still playing when viewmodels are hidden
- Server tags can now be used to include or exclude servers from the list
Due to a change in the STEAMID system currently all admin, spapoints and stats access are unavailible.

This is the moment we strike!

Good changes, I guess.

Pipebombs now get a reduced close range damage ramp up

What does this mean ?

That's just great. Fucking Valve, why can't they just decrease the ammo capacity already?

Wouldn't this have the opposite effect?

It's a nerf, damnit.

Yeah, don't you love it when people are clueless but still jump onto the gripe bandwagon? ;-)

Especially since the second point explains what the first one means:

"Ultimately reduces damage done by pipebombs to enemies <512 units from the Demoman"

Looks like there are also some undocumented changes (found by the guys at Steam forums):

* Removed `equip` console command. (Allowed to switch loadout items without entering the menu.)
* Switching loadout items will not happen unless the character suicide or get to a supply cabinet. (Spawn area does nothing when switching.)
* Removed Natascha's ammo belt in first person view model. (http://yukitan.free.fr/natascha1.jpg)
* The `exit prompt` command now gives a warning message. (Usually bound to F10.)
* A new main menu music has been added. (Title: Faster Than A Speeding Bullet)
* Demoman's bottle taunt has received a new `burp` sound.
* Demoman's secondary weapon has been renamed to Stickybomb Launcher.

 Best buff ever!

This better be a bug.

I've messed up with the database and changed all old STEAM_IDs to the new ones. Points, admin and PS should be back working, but all stats from the time of changing till now are lost.

Awesome update in terms of demoman nerfing - you can smell Scout protection program being launched ;)

Ooooh Airport with Tom Hanks. As a big Hankyfan myself the movie was one of my biggest on screen disappointements.

That's probably because the movie is The Terminal and Tom Hanks never starred in Airport.

We forgot to update one table this morning causing the bought SpA features not to work, this has been updated now and everything was restored. One user re-bought a reserved slot, we've removed that one and updated the day's remaining on your 'old' slot.

After converting everything to the new STEAM_1:x:xxxx system, we get this mail now;

We're hoping to have a fix for the SteamID change live within about an hour. This will be an optional update.

The TF2 blog has been updated with an explanation for the demo change http://www.teamfortress.com/
So it looks like the demo is slightly less effective with stickies in close range, but only during the first 5 seconds of a sticky's life. Not much of a nerf, honestly.

Post subject:  Re: TF2 update installed

It prevents a demo from instagibbing scout/medic ;p
Other than that.. yeah it's still the same

I noticed a sticky exploding in front of my face and only got minor damage last night :S
