Post subject:  What about avanti?

Hi guys,
those of you, who played TFC might know the map "avanti". Back then, it was by far my most favourite, however Valve did not officially publish a TF2 version of this map. Now, since I found a fan-made version of the map, I was wondering, whether SpA would include this map into their servers, so that one could buy it with his SpA-points?
I'd really appreciate that, the map really is awesome. Here's the description and the download:

Greetings,

I suppose we will have another testing round sometime soon to see if we are going to include some more maps into the spapoints menu.

I don't really know.. I guess there were some 24/7 Avanti servers, but I can't really remember if it was that popular.

gibb: Yeah, Flagrun was awesome, too. It was quite well-structured and the way the map worked was kind of innovative.

That's what bothering me most about TF2. I mean, don't get me wrong, the game's great. If it wasn't, I wouldn't play that much, but most TF2 maps simply consist of Defending/Capturing control points. Flagrun had a totally new aspect, Avanti combines both Intel and Control Points. That's why also think, it should be available on the SpA servers. It's different :)

Still in b1?
Cmon I played that map 6 months before...

Anyways, I dont think the gameplay works too play. Its a TFC map after all and 1:1 copies of tfc maps just dont work for TF2.

2fort fails
warpath fails
and now avanti fails as well. (Yes I know, well is a tfc map too, but since it wasnt only converted from ctf to cp but _also_ has made significant design changes its a good map :P)

The map isnt even beautiful. It looks like a CS 1.6 map.

I wouldnt play it regularly.

Wait. 2fort doesn't fail because it's a TFC map, but simply because people rather stay in their base and make it an impregnable fortress (haha, 2fort - fortress, what a pun :D) instead of attacking the enemy. So, this is mainly a CTF and not a TFC problem. Go on a server with any CTF map running: At least half of the team will have garrisoned inside their base (mostly as engis or snipers). Thus, if only 3 or 4 people in a team of 12 players try to get into the enemy base, grab the intel and get it to their base, it's not suprising that they fail, since these 3 or 4 people can't really cope with about 6 or 7 defenders + sentries.

You will see this problem on Turbine, on 2fort, CTF Well and on any random CTF map.

I'll use SaintK's enigmatic line:

This map doesn't meet the SpA quality standards. ;-)

Really, there are so many better looking maps with good gameplay...

I admit, the textures look a bit dull, but really: The gameplay definitely makes up for this.
