this is one of those games that I've got lying around but I never really got the chance to get into. it looks like the sort of thing that would be pretty decent online, so I was wondering if anyone on here has got it and wants a quick game?

I'm a total noob at it though, having barely played it... at all, really. so go easy on me :ugly:

Finished both the original game and the addon never tried it online, good game but for a 2007 game you need a powerful computer to run it :ugly: and there no such thing as a quick game whit supreme commander to build a base and start raising a decent army you need at least 30 minutes or so.
Sadly i don't have the game or the time to play it :( anyways try and finish the campaign it's pretty nice. :18

Honestly, it sucked donkey balls. The expansion was even worse. Oh man, 45 Euros down the drain, but luckily i downloaded the expansion 2 check it out, deleted it after 15min of play.

Honestly, Crackhead doesn't know what he's talking about (but what can you expect from someone who thought Con Air was good - *zing* :-D).
I'm not playing it anymore nowadays and I agree with Johnny that there's no such thing as a quick game but it's a very nice RTS (not RTT like most games nowadays) and a worthy successor to Total Annihilation, the best RTS ever (the *Craft series has nothing on it, even though I played it for quite a while too - OK, except the massive user base :-P).

Problem with TA was that it was even less beginner friendly than Supreme Commander for the majority of people (people who suck at RTS). Also it is true that the matches can take hours, but thats pretty much the same with most big RTS's (starcraft for example, except if they zergling rushed :D).

You think so? Why? I found it quite beginner friendly since it featured lots of automation with queued commands and hence it wasn't such a clickfest like e.g. the *Craft series - you could concentrate on assembling the perfect strike force and choose where to attack your enemy instead on relying on "first one to click wins" gameplay...

starcraft hours?

I must have been doing something wrong with my terrans... usually all resources are gone within an hour xD

lol if you played a starcraft for more than an hour, you've done something terribly wrong, hell, if the match lasts longer than 30 min you've basically drained all resources from the map.... but yeah n00b turtling :P

I remember LANing some deathmatches as kids and we used to make this rule that you couldn't attack anybody else in the first 20minutes. We'd also edit the hunters map to make it have a gazillion resources so we wouldn't run out. And we'd all build cannons, towers, bunkers and creeps ALL over. I'm quite surprised the poor Pentiums weren't dying on those games.
When it came to the battle, well, we'd try to micro something...anything...but mostly ended up with Attack behind the enemy line clicks for full packs of units.

I was a big fan of SCV rush with a couple of marines, and more often than not it worked superb, but you really need a scout in their base to see if they're slow or not

I played it... hoping that they would just make a total annihilation which was newer and spankier... but they failed at such things... :<

TA is still a mile ahead of it in gameplay if you stack like 2 good community mods...

just my 2pence

you basicly just described my childhood LAN matches :P

I find supreme commander fun, but very challenging and tiresome. It's tiresome to have to constantly grab resources, and the enemy AI just spreads over the entire map. difficullltttt..
