Post subject:  Removing hiss from a audiobook

I do loads of travelling so often listen to audiobooks. I have a few that have been poorly encoded, most likely from old tapes and have loads of hiss and could really do with a bit on enhancement.

Anyone recommend any good software that might be useful for this type of thing?

You could try Audacity.
