Yeah, the title already shows my problem. I installed mumble today and it seems as if mumble increases my ping as soon as somebody starts to talk. When everybody's silent, my ping is around 30-70ms, however as soon as somebody starts talking it goes up to.. well, it depends.. it's somewhere between 150 and 400ms. Does anyone have some super-special-uber-config, or just some good advices, how I can solve this problem? And no, increasing my bandwidth isn't possible, unfortunately :/ |

take a look around in the settings m8 configure --> settings then take a look at compression. Put the quality low but not too low and keep the complexity and audio per packet low as well. |

It's kind of weird really, you're the first one I've heard of that has this problem, tried turning off overlay? |

Yes, that fixed it ![]() Now my ping still is slightly increased (about 80-90ms), but it isn't as bad as before. |

vista? and define "screw up".but I don't really care xD I got vista and after I installed it it put most of my programs when run to volume 1 (out of 100) It was kind of odd when I wanted to watch a youtube video it was soundless~ o: |

ye, that's what i meant. it's audio output -> other applications. it decreases the volume of other apps by that many percent, when someone is speaking and increases it afterwards. It was kind of odd when I wanted to watch a youtube video it was soundless~ o: however there seems to be a bug, when there are many people talking: it sometimes seems to decrease the volume for every speaker and increasing it just one time afterwards. also it doesn't work properly with multiple instances of mumble running. |

I'm on 1.1.8 and it runs fine (XP SP3), my computer seems to hate everything but mumble, it even manages to destroy two microphones in the space of 4 weeks ![]() |

Ha, ha! I'm running on 1.1.4 BUT have many, many failed attempts to update behind me. All new versions screw up voice detection but I'm always excited to see a new one with the hope that it will finally run better. :-P |
