I haven't played NS but by the looks of it it has the same concept as the Uprising and Battlezone games (only it's multiplyer :P). I really liked that rts/fps blend so I'll definetly give this new one a try.

NS1 was the best multiplayer game ever created. I mean, TF2 is great and all, but NS still has so much more depth and intensity.

Everyone should buy NS2. It should be mandatory for SpA members :D

Well, the only reason I haven't pre-ordered the Special Edition yet, is because those will be "digital downloads" but not on Steam and I don't like my games not being on Steam.

Natural Selection was a truly awesome mod.
BUT NS2 is in development for ages now and the trailer shows very few content. Additional the gap between a good mod and a retail game I would pay for is gigantic. Valve and Blizzard set a very high limit for me.

The Necromancer (4970)
You can check the development blog to see more content. However, I think it was showcased on the Source Engine, not the new one.

Btw I'm, as I mention before, a dirt-poor student so I can't afford to just pre-order it and hope for the best so if any of you get the SE and alpha testing spot please do share your opinion about the game here. Just hearing about this (I've no ideea how I managed to not play NS before) got me all worked up remembering the LAN nights years ago with Uprising2: Lead and Destroy. :P

I'm with you there indeed. I really like the RTS/FPS mix as well, with buildings and resources and whatnot. Plus you get to evolve your aliens and customize your gameplay a bit, love that stuff.
I really like the instant kill backstabs and cloaking as the spy, but you don't get to crawl around in the cielings ;D

Anyways, this is a nobrainer, I gotta get me this.
...Next game which lets you crawl around in the cielings is also on it's way though, a nother AVP title. Liked AVP2, cept for the laggy servers :/
