The new Star Wars:TOR trailer looks awesome. Too bad they'll make it a MMO but I'm curious to see how it'll end up. :)

How about kotor 3 and TOR release around the same time?

I want BOTH

Left 4 dead 2 trailers are out also.. looks, well the same but differant characters/weapons/maps. Basicly the same, i hope they DO add a choice of weapons and stuff... although i'm not sure i like the idea of a l4d2 in the works already, just another way to get mah moneh instead of just giving us more weapons in l4d... or whatever...

All I care about now is Trico, the new game from Fumito Ueda who gave us Ico and Shadow of the Collosus. I'll play Alan Wake and all the rest but all I've wanted for a long time is a sequal to Deus Ex that didn't suck a new Theif game that also doesnt suck and ANYTHING from Team Ico.

Rumour has it that at least Trico will make some announcement at E3, If not I'm waiting for TGS again.

No you're right it wasn't that bad, it was that Awful, appalling, atrocious and other words begining with A that mean shit. Don't get me wrong its still better than 80% of what was around but naming it a sequel to Deus Ex, what a waste.

BTW People have died for less provocation than that... as is I'll take virtual revenge with a backburner.

Haha, I'm sure you will mate. :D

But that's exactly what I meant, it was still a good game. Nothing compared to the original but then again how many sequels have managed to live up to the expectations? Only a few. I actually look at Deus Ex2 the same way I regard HL2, as a good game that would've never achieved the cult game status of the original but, hey, at least they didn't fuck eveything up like they did with Fallout3.

Regardless, there seems to be a lot of sequels coming our way:

New StarCraft (StarCraft II)
New Diablo (Diablo III)
New Doom (Doom IV)
New Beyond Good and Evil (BG&E 2)
New Max Payne (Max Payne 3)
New Serious Sam (Serious Sam III)
New Monkey Island (Tales of MI)
New Thief (Thief IV)

so nintendo revealed what was basically mario galaxy with yoshi in it, and a thing that measure pulse, and... wait, what, that's it?!

apart from that, the Japanese exec (who WASN'T SHIGSY so I don't care who he is) had the most hilarious accent ever. "veedee games!"

Also, the Super Mario Bros Wii looks like fun. And don't forget the Zelda sequel on the DS.

It's typical for Nintendo: they just milk the cash cow using their already existing technology and game assets. I don't care as long as it's fun.

Same with these.. Why? Why not leave the legacy of MI and Theif alone rather than try and fuck it up? As if Theif 3 wasn't a big hint for fucking up other peoples games

The sequels disapointment started early for me Bubble Bobble (One of the greatest games ever) V's Rainbow Islands. Epic Fail.

Valve can be forgiven though for Portal, HL2 and L4D at least their other output remains consistant. I never really cared about the orginal Fallout Games so the new one doesn't bother me that much. While we're discussing Bethesda and sequals that weren't as good as the originals the Elder Scrolls series got better and better until oblivion. Also GTA, Collosus and Final Fantasy 1 through 7 and System Shock 2. Thats it though can't think of anymore.

yep, I ain't saying it was a bad thing. it's just that... well, that was the only thing worth mentioning imo (super mario bros wii/stuff for the DS is meh, and zelda was mentioned for all of 5 seconds). it's the pure lack of the good bits, with too much casual shiz (facebook app/pulose monitor anyone?) which hardly makes up for it.

Because a popular franchise gathers immediate hype. Most of these sequals aren't even produced by the original studios anymore anyway so it's about getting your paw on a name that draws the attention of a lot of gamers, putting together some sort of a sequal, regardless of it's fitting with the previous titles and getting some money out of it.

Nintendo are making so much money why would they change their business model? They can keep on churning out crap and it will make them more money than the PS3 and the Xbox stuff put together

Post subject:  Re: E3!

Hmmm - how exactly are games like the ones in the Zelda franchise or e.g. the Super Mario franchise crap? Are they any more crap than MS and Sony's offerings which mostly can't detach themselves from tits, gore and 20 shades of brown?

It's not that Nintendo makes (or licenses) crappy games - it's just that all the companies are very entrenched in their respective "style" of games and Nintendo's audience just happens to be more numerous than Sony's or Microsoft's and that's because there's much fewer hardcore gamers than initially thought and with video games having become such a mass-culture phenomenon there's no reason to NOT target the widest audience possible.

I enjoy Nintendo's games more often than not because they offer me a completely different gaming experience from the PC while the XBox360 and PS3, even with their exclusive titles, are just more of the same and I was never in a position where my PC was so shitty that it couldn't keep up with video game graphics.

I don't have to confirm my manliness by playing "hardcore" games all the time and mislabeling all other games as being for children or women - a good game is a good game unless it's a specialist title and you really don't fall inside the target demographic, which is rarely the case for Nintendo, since like I noted before they try to cover a very wide spectrum.

Reggie: What Mr. Miyamoto has shared is that if the first Galaxy was maybe more inviting in terms of all the audiences, what Galaxy 2 is going to be is maybe a little more Nintendo fan / harder gamer focused. A little tougher. The use of Yoshi makes it a little more challenging. We showed some of the snippets of some of the activities -- it's a bit more challenging. It's going to be, if you will, for more of that passionate Mario fan who grew up getting challenged with Super Mario World. It's going to be much more in that area.
