First up is it free (GNU License) utility called G-Parted (you might know it?) It's a drive partition software that allows the end-user to create/edit/expand/"glue" partitions together, i use it on a daily basis on some of the machines i repair and it's a little beauty Link: http://gparted.sourceforge.net/ Download: http://sourceforge.net/project/download ... .4.5-2.iso Secondly, again another free tool (not GNU but openly released by the creator) Packard Bell Diagnostic CD for RAM + HDD tests, Runs basic DFT's and RAM tests for basic troublshooting by the end-user before going off the professionals for repair. Note: This works on ANY PC, not just Packard Bell's Link: http://support.packardbell.co.uk/uk/ite ... 139&t=2008 Download: http://support.packardbell.co.uk/uk/ite ... agCD23.exe Thirdly, Acer's Passworld Removal tool, To my knowledge this only works on Acers running XP/Vista. Link: http://www.xtreme-load.com/vb/showthread.php?t=98760 Download: http://rapidshare.com/files/65920299/Ac ... .part1.rar http://rs160.rapidshare.com/files/65922 ... .part2.rar Finally (One i know will be classed as "Warez" by a lot of people. Hiren 9.9 Link: http://www.hiren.info/pages/bootcd Download: http://torrents.thepiratebay.org/494611 ... PB.torrent Feel free to add your own to the thread (might be wuse to check with Saint first ![]() **Links now working again, fuck knows what happened to them** ![]() ![]() |

a few more free ultilies C(rap)Cleaner - http://www.ccleaner.com/download ccleaner.com wrote: CCleaner is a freeware PC optimization tool.
Spybot S+D - http://www.safer-networking.org
It combines a system cleaner that removes unused and temporary files from your system and also a fully featured registry cleaner! CCleaner allows Windows to run faster, more efficiently and gives you more hard disk space. The best part is that it's Small, Fast and Free! safer-networking.org wrote: Spybot - Search & Destroy detects and removes spyware, a relatively new kind of threat not yet covered by common anti-virus applications. Spyware silently tracks your surfing behaviour to create a marketing profile for you that is transmitted without your knowledge to the compilers and sold to advertising companies. If you see new toolbars in your Internet Explorer that you haven't intentionally installed, if your browser crashes inexplicably, or if your home page has been "hijacked" (or changed without your knowledge), your computer is most probably infected with spyware. Even if you don't see the symptoms, your computer may be infected, because more and more spyware is emerging. Spybot-S&D is free, so there's no harm giving it a try to see if something has invaded your computer.

although spyware search and destroy seems a bit dodgy with vista (I just stick with avast! and the standard firewall) I can vouch for ccleaner - very awesome program, must have. |

I should add it wasn't the ISP that caught me it was the people that monitored the P2P downloads/uploads (the film companie I guess) which then inform the relevant ISP. |
