That reminds me of that gun 3d controller with force feedback that was supposed to get out with some Valve game. You connect a model of gun to it and control your aim in 3D. Anyone remembers the name and/or what happened to that project? |

It's the Novint Falcon. There is actually a public beta test for Portal and EP2 on Steam right now to test that controller.

shineh only problem I could see with it is finding the balance between sensitivity and getting involved in the game - for example, in TF2, it's automatic for me to do a quick 180 degree spin every few seconds so I can check what's behind me. obviously, a bit annoying with this gun, and while you could effectively turn the sensitivity of the tracker up so less movement by you transalates into more movement on screen, it probably wouldn't draw you into the game as much. that's my 2 cents anyhow. |
