Everytime someone changes status in steam friends which causes a popup, i have an annoying 'group officer' thingy in the left top of my screen, which doesnt dissapear. I have to minimize all open programs before is removes it self... Argh!

wehehehehe, sweet  I guess you already did a quick reinstall of steam without deleting the largest game files? Or not?

I don't have any problems either. 3.5.1 here as well.  I guess you could try to reinstall Steam.
