Battlefield 2 is a really awsome game. We play it multiple times per week. You should join us for a few sessions on Mumble. |

looks like battlefield 2 but with more air assets... And to be honest, if they are gonna put that much air into the game in the mod I better hope they put in a lot of AA as well. Right now its already a pain when you are up against an elite jet fighter, they are impossible to take down if you are stuck on the ground. |

thats nothing compared with the size and playability of BF2. MW has a way to narrow view, fromthere i pre-conclude its more made for COD5 sized maps. (could be wrong tho) |

I'll probably get this after I've finished up Brothers in Arms. are you expected to have the expansions for online play, or is it mostly vanilla with some mods? |

We only play just BF2, no mods. Its advicable to install BF2 specialforces thought as it provides you with more unlockable weapons in normal BF2.

AIX has always been pretty bad for multiplayer, since air has always been too overpowered, especially helicopter-vs-ground vehicle. This one doesn't look better, and why the hell would they include the blackbird? It has no Air-to-air guns, it has a turning rate that is comparable with the Titanic, and it it vertically uncontrollable close to ground... Yet, they have included a blackbird that easily shoots down helicopters, and navigate narrow curvy ravines with ease ![]() |

helicopter vs ground is no issue at all. As anti-tank its quite doable to shoot them down. The jets are the only real problem tbh as they barly can be shot down from the ground. the only effective way would be a good jet pilot at your side. |

I wouldn't put my hopes up for a succesful mod for bf2 though, the game is old and I wonder if a modded server will fill anyway. Then you'll be doomed to deinstall the mod anyway, depends on how they let you install/play it. Rather look at the upcoming battlefields that are coming out. |

I found it for cheap on ebay so I just went ahead and bought it. few questions; are all the classes equally played (I'm under that impression that medic is pretty popular, and it does look fun), and how important is a joystick for using aircraft? |

most people have a few classes they love. My primary classes are Special ops, anti-tank, assault and support. I barly ever play sniper or medic. engineer only sometimes when something needs fixing.

Oh, and the game is most fun when its played with a few people. Me (and most of us) don't really ever play it alone. |

In september Battlefield 1943 will be available for download on PC for roughly $15 i hope. Will use the Frostbite engine, the maximum number of online players will be 24, and you'll be able to play as both the US Marines and the Japanese Imperial Army. The downside is that it will have only 3 maps but the game it's already a hit on the Xbox becoming the most downloaded game ever. The reviews are good : eurogamer gave it a 8/10, gamespot 8, IGN 8.5 , gametrailers 7.6 . I will surely be getting this ![]() And in Q1 2010 Battlefield: Bad Company 2 it's announced not really sure about this game because i never played the first being a X360 PS3 exclusive but it looks good ![]() |

Is the 24 player the final announced? Cause last interview i read was that they were going to change the player limits for the PC version. 24 players just plain sucks! |

Quote: Dear PC Gamer(s),
Other then this i cannot find any official information about BF1943 PC edition.
I know you might feel disappointed about the PC release being in September rather than June, but you should be very happy to know this is to give us the proper development time to create a proper PC version of Battlefield 1943 and not a console port. To the contrary of some less informed fans out there this is in no means an intentional ploy to punish our PC fans. And is in fact quite the opposite, we want to make the best damn PC version we can for our PC fans! Not to bore your eyes out with endless text about the how's and do's I will say to make this a proper PC version we need a completed core game to develop over and remember we already released Battlefield Bad Company with the Frostbite Engine on the consoles, so this will be first PC game ever released using Frostbite! PCs are an open platform requiring additional features, support, technical consideration, and can't just be thrown out there using copy/paste. We have thought very carefully about this decision and in the long run felt it was the right choice even though we knew we'd catch some flak for it, but we feel once you play the first Frostbite PC game ever from DICE you'll see why we put this extra time and care in on the development making all right again in the universe. I hope this helps clear things up better and answers your concern(s). Sincerely, Gordon Van Dyke Battlefield 1943 Producer |

tried it out a bit today, and it's pretty fun - the only thing is that getting it to run in a bigger resolution is a pain. I've tried the usual shortcut command line editing thing, but it just crashes it more or less straight away. any ideas? also, if there any way to have the program 'run as administrator' using the steam launcher? running as admin is the only way to get it to work online, but I want to be able to use steam at the same time ofc. |
