Anyone else here in the beta?
I think the game is pretty awesome. Never really was hyped up for this or anything, besides I didn't think I would like a super hero game. But with the amount of options this game presents..... just wow.. I must have spend at least 3-4 hours in the character creation screen this weekend just fiddling about with all the options and trying to remake famous heroes and characters.. Well I succeeded in making a Ultramarine (space marine), Jake from the Blues Brothers, Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Carribean and various other famous characters. Its really fun when you are running around and you see what other people have come up with.. or the random button
. After spending hours in character creation, I finally entered the game-world. Here was a tiny dissappointment waiting for me. It seems the game does everything in instances. I really dislike the idea of having 24 little worlds with 20 players or so (that seemed to be the average population).. But with the size of the different maps its not too bad and you don't have to worry too much about spawncamping players who keep nabbing that quest item you are after. So what happens when you get into the game? You go PWN shit, and literally that is what you do. I have tried out a couple of different ''classes" and you can really clobber the npc's. The game divides mobs into different types, you got henchman which are basically meatshields for you to punch the shit out and you can take on quite a few at the same time. Villains who are tougher but you can still pretty much clobber 2 or 3 at the same time. And then you got Super Villians, these suckers are designed for 1 on 1 or team vs them.
It makes for quite a fun combat, you arent forced to just stand still and wait till the mob is down. While in combat you can just keep on moving and use your abilities. With my amunitions character I just spray bullets into the target and keep running around. Looks pretty gangster-like
Anyhow, try to get into the beta and I reckon you will get pleasantly suprised. And if you are in the Beta please let me know, because I really would love to have a superhero team bashing the shit out of villains.
